Improv Acting

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate

I have been performing for over two decades and have studied acting since I was 13 years old. I did my MFA training in Europe and my unique approach to acting and performing gives actors, performers, and presenters tools to create a presence on stage or film that captures the audience through depth and comfort. My coaching style will guide you to enrich your performance by creating characters on stage that are both dynamic and relatable. I excel in devising theatre and can help you to create your own multidisciplinary performance.

Teaching since:

I am a multidisciplinary performer, with specialties in acting, music, and writing. I have an MFA in Physical Theatre where I studied different techniques and styles of how to use the body on stage and how to create performances. My training was done in Europe with European professors and a unique and enlightening perspective to the performer on stage. In my undergrad, I learned how to devise theatre and created my first one-woman show, which I wrote, directed, produced, and performed.

I was accepted into graduate school for poetry and moved across country to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue an MFA at Emerson College. After two weeks I realized I needed to be doing something else and so I landed myself an internship at a voice and music recording studio. In exchange for an unpaid internship, I was given free voice lessons, and this is where I learned that anyone can learn to sing. I worked my way up to become a voice teacher and administration at the same company.

Realizing that I needed to get back on stage for theatre, I moved back to Arizona to pursue acting again. I missed the environment of creating and studying, so I applied to another graduate school, but this time for theatre. I attended Accademia dell’Arte in Tuscany, Italy where after two and a half years and three different countries I received my MFA in Physical Theatre.

My training has provided me with a unique set of skills and viewpoint to be able to integrate into American theatre. I learned that the Europeans generally devise more work and have a more physical approach to performing, and this is something I want to bring to the stage in the U.S. and revolutionize the way actors approach a character. I have taught acting in classes as well as in workshop environments to children, teens, and adults.
