Master of Fine Arts in Acting

Christian/Catholic Acting Coach with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting

Hello, my name is Bernadette. I graduated from a very rigorous 3 year Master of Fine Arts in Acting program from Regent University. I specialize in Film Acting, however, I have worked as a Producer, Casting Director, Director and Camera Operator so I am familiar with what goes on behind the camera as well. As a Christian/Catholic actress, I can give real life insight and tools that will help equip you in navigating the arts industry while keeping your morals and values intact. Putting God first is a must. We can go into more depth of what that means exactly. I have extensive knowledge in resume formatting, head shot formatting, demo reel formatting, how to properly audition for both film and theatre, how to properly self-tape from home, tricks for memorization, monologue preparation, character analyzation, etc. I personally enjoy deriving my technique with a mixture of improvisation and Uta Hagen's theories on acting. I was also trained in Meisner and if a student requests it we can certainly work on some of his exercises as well. Everything I have learned has been through my masters program, reading and researching for years, self-educating, attending numerous industry events, conferences, and from working onset as an actress. While onsets, I network and hear from other professionals their opinions on the industry. I can also help with website formatting. I am familiar with IMDb Pro and have spent hours figuring out how to work that website. My personal quote is "It's never too late to start acting the part you were born to play." Anyone can be an actor, because acting is just a human, being a human. What you need to work on is how to become more vulnerable, be empathetic and find away to relate to the story. I love my job, it's going to be fun! Hope to hear from you! -Bernadette

Hello! My name is Bernadette! I recently graduated from Regent University with my Master of Fine Arts in Acting with a Concentration in Directing. I received my B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University which I have found has been a very complimentary degree with acting. In 2012, I taught an acting/filmmaking class at Prude Ranch Summer Camp in Fort Davis, Texas. In 2013, I taught at a very prestigious filmmaking camp at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland. I taught the children everything from producing, script writing, acting, camera operating, sound mixing, editing with Final Cut Pro X software, and I was their assistant teacher for their Animation camp as well. I have interned for three production companies; Mirandum Pictures in Front Royal, Virginia, Michael Copon Studios in Norfolk, Virginia and at Parroco Production Group, Inc. in Chesapeake, Virginia. If you are not familiar with Michael Copon Studios, the CEO Michael Copon is best known for his portrayal of the blue power ranger in the early 2000's. I have extensive amount of training in film acting. Film acting is my sweet spot, however, aside from it I am trained in improv, stand up, theatre, teleprompter work, hosting, commercials, print modeling, sketch comedy, stage combat, etc. My teaching style is simple, I will treat each student as an individual. No one person is the same, so therefore, I will hone in on what your goals and expectations are. I will help you achieve those goals and we will find an acting method that best suits you. There are so many different ways to approach auditioning, for example. The most important thing, I feel, is to find what works best for you, expound on that and always work towards bringing your authentic self to the table. That is what will ultimately enrichen your acting career the most and your personal life as well. Acting is one of those tools that you can incorporate into just about anything. I love it and I love what I do so, thank you for checking out my page and I hope to hear from you! -Bernadette
