After 12 years of mostly classical training, I became interested in how to apply it to popular, blues, and jazz styles. I began listening to my favorite piano artists and realized they were not exactly virtuosos. They experimented with sounds, some without an ounce of classical training. You don't have to be a genius to play beautiful music on a keyboard. A classical technique gets you to a place where you can find your own voice, and express it competently and confidently. It will be a little work, but not without reward. My lessons are tailored to each individual's musical interests. Currently I am thankful for my classical training. I play keyboard in my local church, and occasionally jam with friends, and also spend time in peaceful meditation making my own music, just exploring sounds freely in whatever way I choose. It's a gift I'm thankful for and want to give to you.
