Trumpet with Aric K.

Hello, I'm Aric! I am a freelance trumpet player, and teacher. I am a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, and am currently pursuing a masters degree in Classical Trumpet Performance from the University of California Los Angeles. As a performer I have experience in every genre possible, including performances with orchestras, wind ensembles, mixed brass ensembles, early music ensembles, jazz bands, jazz combos, and new music ensembles. As a soloist I have been invited to compete in the Music National Teachers association Young Artist Brass Finals, the National Trumpet Competition, and the Jeju International Brass and Percussion competition. In addition to my experience as a performer I was also thoroughly trained in music theory, ear training, and music history while studying at Eastman. I have been teaching trumpet lessons privately for the last 8 years. Despite the incredible experiences I’ve had as a performer, teaching has always been the most fulfilling part of my career! Witnessing my students learn and improve gives me a source of inspiration that nothing else can even compare to. My teaching style is highly customized. All of the decisions I make as a teacher are informed by the personality of who it is I am working with. The most crucial part of my job is learning how each one of my students most effectively learns, and using that to help them meet their potential in the most efficient way possible.
