Ballet with Anna H.

I believe that ballet is the most beautiful and the most difficult art form there is. Learning ballet technique is not only great exercise but it teaches gracefulness, discipline, dedication, and perseverance. I started dancing before I can remember. I studied competitive gymnastics as an adolescent, but it wasn't until Freshman year of high school that I decided I wanted to pursue dance and particularly ballet. I started at Lauridsen Ballet Centre in Torrance, CA where I learned the basics and started on pointe. In high school I competed on the advanced dance team and was then accepted into the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles. At the academy I was taught Vaganova (Russian) ballet technique, variations, and pas de deux. I then studied classical American ballet at the Santa Barbara Ballet and American Ballet Theater in New York. I performed in many theater productions and ballets during my time as Artist in Residence for the academy. After getting my bachelors degree and starting my career in a different field I decided to revisit my passion for teaching ballet. I want to share my knowledge of the art with others and help you reach your goal whether it be for posture improvement, love of dance, competition, or exercise.
