Hi! I'm Amy, and I am thrilled that you've arrived at my profile. I'd love to work with you. Feel free to send me a question or inquiry today! Teaching is my passion. Every student, lesson, and class I teach lights me up! Everything I do outside of teaching (performing, practicing a healthy lifestyle, exploring new things and furthering my education) is in service of my current and future students. I am forever grateful that my profession is what I love. My hope is that you will be led to your own life and musical passion through my example. What distinguishes me from other teachers is my ability to understand the needs of the student, adapt and make-up exercises for specific physical and mental blocks in learning/practicing music, and my constant availability between lessons to answer questions, review videos sent by students and provide encouragement for all outside musical pursuits. While I am understanding that mistakes happen, I care deeply about the progress of my students and so I make a point to not let students play mistakes over and over during lessons. I study and practice Alexander Technique, which is a practice that aims to cultivate the natural function of the body through enhanced self-awareness. I bring this practice into my teaching so that my students play pain-free and even work through injury whether music, profession, hobby, or life-related. My students gain further understanding of how to sense their own wellness and learn how to implement the practice in their music and lives. My practitioner is one of the highest-level and longest-practicing people in the nation. Looking forward to working with you! Cheers, Amy
