Belly Dancing with Amira J.

Amira Jade is a Eugene-based Belly Nerd and multi award-winning dancer. She is a believer in the magical power of Egyptian dance and hopes to share some of that magic and life with you! Initially pursuing Bellydance as a means of healing from her c-section, Amira Jade's love affair with this dance form began with her very first class. As a musician and former ballerina, she was captivated by the interesting rhythms, music and movement of Middle Eastern music and dance. Amira Jade danced with Egyptian folkloric Troupe An Noor for 2 years before shifting her energy toward personal growth and competition. She regularly performs with live bands at restaurants, shows and cultural events throughout the Pacific Northwest and currently teaches bellydance classes at Celebration Bellydance & Yoga in Eugene. Lessons are held in a fun and welcoming atmosphere, and are geared toward the student’s goals for learning. Students can expect to build a strong foundation in Middle Eastern rhythms, songs, stylization, technique, musicality and performance theory while discovering and living the joy of dance!
