About Amanda S.
Soprano Amanda S. is a professional vocalist and as well as a private music instructor. She has studied with some of the top voice teachers in the world and has a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Georgia State University. Her repertoire is versatile ranging from opera, classical song recital, church music to pop, musical theater and jazz. She was a member of the esteemed Atlanta Opera Chorus, has been a finalist in several competitions including National Opera Association Competition and American Traditions Competition. Recent credits include performing the title role in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly as well as Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme with Capitol City Opera, and Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the La Musica Lirica festival in Novafeltria, Italy. She also was honored to perform the leading role of Terentia in Dan Shore's The Beautiful Bridegroom which was premiered for the National Opera Association of America at their annual convention.
Her fun and engaging teaching style emphasizes classical technique, strong musicianship, and audition performance preparation. Her students have been accepted and received scholarships to prestigious music programs at CCM, Indiana University, Boston Conservatory, Baldwin-Wallace, Syracuse, Western Michigan, Elon and Belmont and many others. Some of her student’s accomplishments include local and national talent competition wins, top awards at solo/ensemble competitions, students who were awarded grand champion and finalists at show choir invitational solo competitions, All-State Chorus, leading and secondary musical theater roles in professional and school productions, have had students nominated for IHSMTA Broadway in Chicago awards and students that have been given recording contracts! This past summer, she had a student perform her 4th role in a Broadway production! She’s also had students featured on television shows such as American Idol and So you think you can dance.
I have been teaching for over 15 years and am passionate about helping my students unlock their full potential and helping them to discover their true voice! Students can expect to make progress in their very first lesson and continue to improve from week to week. I have worked with various students from those who are tone-deaf to professionals.
"I've taken lessons with several teachers and I've never learned anything like this before." "I can't believe the improvement I've made after a lesson or two!" "I was so nervous before starting lessons because I didn't know what to expect but I'm having so much fun!" These are comments I often hear from my new students.
