Teaching since:

Amanda Spilinga started her journey of becoming a versatile artist at age 11. She took lessons in Ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary. After spending some time doing acting and singing she knew dance was her calling.

She started to achieve recognition by known choreographers as up and coming dancer at 16. She went on to receive many scholarship offers and winning competitions between the ages of 16 and 19. She was able to complete a year of courses and receive the certification as professional modern dance instructor from the International Dance Association at the age of 17. She achieved all of those while studying as an interpreter and translator in foreign languages.

She was exposed to street dance culture after traveling to NYC, which expended her dance vocabulary and was able to unleash her creativity.

Ever since when she was a little girl, Amanda has been impelled by the need to share her passion for dance with others. She began teaching contemporary dance class to all dancers, regardless of their experience in dance. That passion propelled her to join ASTC in 2014.

The company embodies Amanda's core values. It is comprised of dancers from many nationalities, backgrounds and dance styles. She is taking many different voices and merging them to create a story that will resonate with many. Since the company's inception, they have performed in clubs, theaters and TV.

Amanda is an amazing person , who is passionate about dance and really makes our autistic son feel comfortable when learning new performances . Our son has been with Amanda for 2 years and she really is # 1 roll model for him . Dance has given our son new sense of accomplishment and joy . There is nothing more important for autistic children then to be accepted by others and that’s exactly what Amanda is all about . Thank you

I met Amanda during one of her open classes and got inspired for more. Whatever is that you think you cannot be, she will make you become with spontaneity, attention and professionalism. Her style is unique ( no wonder her company is called Alternative Synergy) and she works with all levels. I am not a professional dancer but after taking her privates I went to try other classes I was really scared of originally. I did just fine and I was impressed about how comfortably I could pick up. Amanda is my winning card!

I had stopped dancing for about 10 years when I randomly found myself in one of Amanda’s classes. In less than an hour I was hooked. Despite years of dance training in multiple styles, the class was unlike anything I had ever taken before. I have now been dancing with Amanda for over 5 years and am still constantly amazed and inspired by her unique style and passion for the art. Her classes still challenge me but I can see how much I have grown as a dancer since starting with her. She’ll absolutely push you out of your comfort zone and past limits you think you have. I highly recommend taking class with her if you’re interested in trying a completely new style or want to grow as an artist.

Amanda has an unshakable faith in people’s ability to push past their limitations and grow into what they truly desire to become. It is this mindset that allows her to teach others with effectiveness because that belief becomes contagious. I have definitely grown stronger as a dancer thanks to her training and look forward to where my progress will take me. Feeling grateful.

She blew my mind with her knowledge and movement. There were so many things I didn’t know about hip hop history that she filled up for me. Now, my movement is so much better because I understand the meaning behind it. She is very humble and does not want be called an expert in hip hop but holy cow I saw her dancing and I was speechless. She knows a lot! Make sure you get multiple privates. Thank you Amanda!

Oh my god, I feel I never really danced until I met Amanda! Her accomplishments are unbelievable, that’s why I was a little intimidated when I book my lesson. When I met her, I couldn’t really believe how humble she is! She’s a founder of a kick ass NYC dance company still having a private with her is the most empowering thing ever! I’m a beginner and she is so patient and makes me feel so confident about myself!
She is a life saver. Book a class and see it yourself!

Amanda is just the best. She is not only extremely professional but also caring. I am amazed by how many dance techniques she knows and how she effectively explains them to me. Her rates might be higher than the standard, but it is so worth it. I actually think for no price is enough for what she teaches. She helped me preventing injuries that were already getting worse. That’s why she is good for everyone, kids and adults.
On top of that, her dance company is just a dream. They are the real thing in NYC dance scene. I am so happy Amanda is my dance teacher.
