Singing with Alexis N.

Though a bit shy by nature, I have always loved the stage and fine arts. In 2013 I graduated with my Bachelors in Music, emphasis in Musical Theatre, from Ouachita Baptist University. While there, I studied privately with Ms. Suzetta Glenn (voice) with repertoire including art songs, arias, and musical theatre pieces. I also had the chance to study and work with several theatre faculty, including the then Dean of the School of Fine Arts, Dr. Scott Holsclaw, both in class and during theatrical productions. I participated in several choirs while at OBU including Ouachita Sounds (2010-2011), and Ouachita Singers (2011-2013), and even had the opportunity to serve my school in the highly coveted role of Tiger Tunes Hostess in the Fall of 2011. Since college, I have been involved with my church’s praise team, and have volunteered with the youth praise team assisting in the area of vocals. In October of 2017, after a location-induced hiatus from the theatre, I had the chance to return to the stage for a community theatre production of Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, in which I played Elvira. Lessons with me will focus on proper breathing technique, strengthening the voice, and performance techniques. I teach many styles of music, including musical theatre, pop, country, worship, jazz, classical, and choral. I'd love to help you reach your vocal goals!
