Explore your flute artistry with a professional!

In my 10+ years of teaching students ages 6-75, I have coached flutists towards earning principal chairs in their ensembles, top All-State rankings, and placements into international music festivals. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With conservatory training from the Manhattan School of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, I am a professional musician and educator who has performed in prestigious venues as a principal orchestral flutist, headlined a professional solo recital series along the east coast, and taught in multiple public school music environments through educational outreach initiatives. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some of my most notable ensemble positions have been as principal flutist with the Enigma Chamber Opera, the New York Youth Symphony, the Columbia University Orchestra, the Manhattan Opera Studio Orchestra, and the Claremont Chamber Orchestra, where I performed at prestigious New York venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. As a classroom educator, I have taught at the Sophia Academy in Rhode Island, as a guest in Boston Public Schools, and the Lyric Chamber Society's "Classicool" program at the Mott School. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    About Aimee T.

Over my 8+ years of teaching to students ages 6-23, I have coached flutists toward winning principal spots in their ensembles, earning successful ratings and competitive festivals, and eventually pursuing music at the collegiate level. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With conservatory training from the Manhattan School of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, I am a young professional musician and educator who has performed principle flute positions in prestigious venues, headlined a solo recital tour along the east coast, and taught at multiple public schools through educational outreach initiatives. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of my most notable ensemble positions have been as principal flutist of the New York Youth Symphony, the Columbia University Orchestra, the Manhattan Opera Studio Orchestra, and the Claremont Chamber Orchestra, where I performed at prestigious New York venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. As an educator, I taught with the Harmony Program at its summer camp initiative at PS107 and through the Lyric Chamber Society's "Classicool" outreach program at the Mott School. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With my private flute studio, I focus on integrating fundamental techniques into the performance of solo and ensemble repertoire. Lessons are often comprised of a combination of scales, fingering exercises, sight reading, ensemble repertoire, and solo pieces. Regardless of the level of student, I find that demonstrating for my students as well as collaborating with them in duets and other shared music making to be incredibly important in learning the communicative nature of musicality. My lessons also include coaching in music theory, improvisation, jazz studies, composition, rehearsal etiquette, orchestral excerpts, chamber music, extended techniques, music history, piccolo and alto flute training, and audition/performance preparation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am so thrilled to meet and work with you!
