Guitarist, Songwriter, Composer, Arranger, Producer, Performer

The virtuoso session guitarist has recorded with such names as The Brecker Brothers and the Saturday Night Live band, and he has toured with Journey, Styx, Tina Turner, Robin Trower, Chick Corea, Bob Seger, Fania All Stars, and many other music legends. And now with his group Second Chance, he's more dazzling than ever, rejuvenated with a real second chance after recovering from a life-threatening illness.
George's first album to bring attention to his guitar mastery was Chango, as part of the group of the same name, which signed to ABC Records in the 70’s. The album went gold, selling more than 500 thousand copies. George’s second record was on Mercury records. He also produced, co-wrote and played guitar with a group called Apache, signed to Atlantic records. All the
records reached the Billboard charts.
More recently, George's Under the Influence CD has had major exposure and has been played on over 550 radio stations worldwide. The CD, which has sold more than five thousand copies without a major release, feat

Witnessing George instruct is watching a professional at work! He doesn't play the guitar, but he makes the guitar sing. You can tell his experience by his knowledge of his instrument, and what he teaches is substantial to what I need or anybody else to become a better musician. Just like his productions he teaches at a high-level, but breaks it down for even a child to understand. If you want a transformation in your musicianship, I'm confident Mr. Jacobs is your guy!

George is an excellent instructor. My son had been playing for awhile but just couldn’t get past the brick wall that he kept hitting. George worked with him and was able to get past the rut he was in and help him expand his skills. My son is now 17 and plays in a popular local band that has several paying gigs a month. Thank you George.

About Arielle-Khrystiana
I began my musical studies at the age of six, starting off in my elementary school orchestra and chorus. A passion and talent for the violin led me to placing in competitions and festivals, and performing professionally in quartets and at wedding ceremonies later in high school. I began performing in rock 'n' roll bands in 2008, and began a teaching career in 2009. My students and students' parents have praised me for my musicianship, patience, and compassion. I am also an operatic soprano and musical theater musician, thus making me a diverse and well-rounded instructor. I teach in the traditional style, combining some Suzuki elements. For beginning voice lessons, we will focus on vocalizes, theory, and appropriate repertoire. I take a different approach to every student, realizing that not everyone learns the same, and that what may wo
rk for one student will not work for another. I am dedicated to assisting the musicians of the future. I firmly believe that being performer assists me in my teaching, because I can give my students the benefit of my performance knowledge and experience, preparing them not only for school concerts and NYSSMA festivals, but also other arenas, such as performing with rock musicians or in theater pits to earn extra cash after high school. I enjoy working with all ages, 3-83. I'm excited to meet you and assist you with the adventure that is learning classical violin! My students have also been recipients of several scholarships and awards.

*** Lesson Details ***
A combination of traditional and Suzuki techniques. Each lesson is uniquely tailored to fit the student's personal/musical goals, learning style, and skill level. Voice lessons will focus on healthy vocalism, beginning theory training, and sight-reading skills.

*** Studio Equipment ***

Antonella is an AMAZING teacher. I am an older adult student, with no music theory or background. She is very patient, accommodating, and uses very useful analogies that help me visualize what to do in a way that helps me learn and remember. My own weakness is in making time to diligently practice. I look forward to each lesson, and give her my highest recommendation.

Our experience with Antonella has been wonderful. She has high standards but is also extremely patient with young students. My daughter has learned beautiful technique but more importantly, she has expanded her mind, improved her sense of discipline and commitment and learned to play piano with a feel for the music. Working with Antonella is fantastic for the student and their parent/guardian. It's a joint effort. I highly recommend Antonella

I teach piano, composition, music theory, and ear training to students at every level of musical experience (including those who cannot read music). To date I have taught over 100 music students in private, online and classroom settings.

My biggest priority in teaching is to help you reach your specific goals and address your needs! Every student has their own objectives and learns at their own pace, and my job is to ensure that you get exactly what you want out of the lessons. Whether you’re looking to master piano basics, learn your favorite songs or pieces, write your own music, prepare for a theory exam, strengthen your theory skills, or improve your ear, I can help you achieve your goals!

I am available for both in-person and online teaching. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

-Subjects-

Beginne
r Piano - I have privately instructed over 30 students in beginner-level piano skills. I can help you master the basics of the instrument, acquire a basic technique, and learn how to read music if necessary. Once the fundamentals are in place, we can cover piano repertoire from a wide variety of styles (jazz, classical, rock, pop, international, etc.), and maybe even learn some of your favorite music and pieces! If you wish, I can supplement lessons with music theory.

Composition and Arrangement - To date I have helped my students write over 20 compositions of widely varying styles and characters. I can help you perfect the art of writing melody, harmony, accompaniment, counterpoint, forms, lyrics, songs, orchestration, or film music! I will provide feedback on your work, as well as instructive musical examples from the past.

Music Theory - I I have taught music theory for 4 years to over 50 students. I can teach you everything from music theory fundamentals (key signatures, scales, major/minor chords, chord analysis) to some of the most advanced topics in undergraduate and graduate musical studies (form, part-writing, counterpoint, advanced harmonic analysis, Schenkerian analysis).

Ear Training - I have taught ear training for 3 years to over 50 students. I am very experienced in assisting students in recognizing and notating everything from single notes and chords to complex passages of music. I have many useful learning materials and know effective methods for achieving aural recognition.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson, please do not hesitate to contact me!

About Chet
Hi, my name is Chet. My students call me "Mr. Chet." I have been teaching piano, keyboard and synthesizer since 2005. Originally from near Portland, Oregon, I took courses from the Berklee School of Music in Boston and have been playing professionally since just out of high school. You wanna know how to get those professional-sounding licks into your playing? I can help you do that. Most sheet music is so bare-bones that it almost doesn't sound like the song- together we will learn how to beef it up. My lessons are meant to be fun while you learn- and they are because they are written just for you. I have a pretty laid-back teaching style, but if you think you can just goof off, you'll find out differently really quickly.

About Liana
Classically trained violinist since age 9, I currently teach private violin lessons from my home. I graduated from Clarence High School with fond memories of violin, the orchestra, and music.

I have auditioned for and was accepted into the 2005 NYSSMA All State Orchestra and 2005 NYSSMA All State Chorus.

As a professional violin teacher, my students enjoy the music and the learning process just as much as I did growing up. My teachers have put much into me at school and I want to take the opportunity to give back, and put into our youth the same techniques and motivation for playing violin as I learned.

I strive to let them play as much as possible rather than talking their ear off. I teach what I was taught and more , more of what I’ve learned through the years of practicing in my room at home. I love to see my students’ faces
when learning something new just clicks for them — it makes me work even harder to see their success in that technique or song they are working on. Practice doesn’t come easy and I like to assure my students with helpful reasons AND ways to practice at home. Because practice makes perfect.

About Donna
I have been playing the guitar and writing music for most of my adult life. I started lessons when I was 13 years old, and continued lessons for 7 years. I started teaching guitar when I was 16 years old and was privileged to have taught dozens of people throughout my career. For the last few years I have focused on perfecting my craft of songwriting and have had some success. Now, I want to pay it forward. Whether you're just starting out learning the guitar, or you want to learn to write music, I would be honored to be your teacher.

Biography

Stricken with spinal meningitis at the age of 18 months, Donna lost 60% of her hearing. Regardless, music has always been special in her life, remembering “composing” symphonies in her head as early as 5 years old. Being a child of the 60’s, the biggest influence in Donna’s life musically
was the Beatles, couple with a strong exposure to the classics. Being unbearably shy and self-conscious due to her disability, Donna’s entire world exploded at the age of 13 when she started playing the guitar and writing music. Determined to set an example for other people with disabilities, she put together several bands over the next 30 years, acquiring local success with Buffalos’ first all female country band, touring all over Western New York and Pennsylvania. Besides being the leader of the band, Donna played the guitar, banjo and wrote all the bands original music. Due to the success of her last band “Sweet Phantasy” Donna was featured in a half hour television special focusing on her ability to perform and write music, despite her hearing loss. Now with her performing days behind her, Donna is concentrating all her creative abilities on perfecting her craft of songwriting. Having written 100’s of songs over the years, she is writing new and re-writing some old, having them produced and recorded in Nashville for that pure country sound. Tapping in to the wisdom that comes with experience, her music now has taken on a new life, and richness of its own. “Now, I tell it like it is because I’ve been there, done that, and have a lot to say”. Her song "TRY" was released in July 2017 by recording artist Mia Kylie Ditta, opening up a slew of new and exciting projects and co-writes in the works.
