Book NowMusic theory is an important part of understanding music whether composing or performing. I studied music theory into my graduate performance degree because understanding theory informs your performance. Music theory has allowed me to perform solo and orchestral repetoire at a higher level on my primary instrument.

Experienced teacher and performer. I teach at the college level all the way down to youngsters (5 year old minimum age for me). I LOVE music and playing the drums and I'd like to share my experience with YOU!
As a performer I've toured the country multiple times with various artists, sometimes playing to crowds as large as 7,000. I've been on dozens of recording sessions and I've performed in just about anything type of venue you can imagine.
As a teacher I've maintained a roster of private students for over 10 years while also teaching as adjunct faculty for multiple colleges in Massachusetts. Additionally, I have a music therapy background which has shaped and informed my teaching style.
My favorite genres are jazz, rock, R&B, country, metal, basically anything with rhythm! Lets connect and get you moving forward on your instrument.
About Patrick
A strongly devoted musical student throughout his grade school years, Patrick came to Boston in 2004 to study at Berklee College of Music. He is currently a multi-instrumentalist and music educator in the Boston area, touring with multiple New England groups. With a diverse background and teachin

Book NowI offer 24 years of experience playing, and 17 years teaching privately and as a public school band director. My curriculum focuses on technique, theory, style, and interpretation.
To develop quality saxophone technique, an emphasis on posture, breath support, embouchure, tone quality, intonation, articulation, and fingering is incorporated in each portion of a given lesson.
The importance of theory and scales is outlined and taught with each lesson. A challenging scale assignment to improve technical ability and music theory knowledge directly correlated to the assigned repertoire will help students understand the structure of the music they are practicing.
Saxophone students dedicate practice time to classical repertoire that includes both lyrical and technical challenges. Demonstrating the highest level of performance and knowledge of a piece is the desired result. A portion of each lesson is dedicated to students learning the style of jazz, a staple for the saxophone. Students

I'm a songwriter and musical theater writer (ASCAP, BMI Workshop) with over 15 years of experience crafting songs and 12 years experience teaching. My work has been performed in New York Off-Broadway, Nashville, and L.A.
Songwriting lessons are in some ways similar to Composition Lessons (see "Composition") with a focus on popular songwriting, including musical theater and commercial music. You will learn about harmony and form, but lyric writing and also how to tell a story through song. You will also work on how to create a catchy hook, how to keep your song focused and clear, how to create a "turn" at the end, and how to grab and keep the listener's attention.
About Natalie
Natalie is a NYU and BMI Workshop trained composer of songs, musicals, and concert music who has helped many songwriters find their voice and fine-tune their skills. She is particularly adept at identifying what is keeping a song from working (whether it be music, lyrics or both) and helping writer
