Experienced teacher and performer. I teach at the college level all the way down to youngsters (5 year old minimum age for me). I LOVE music and playing the drums and I'd like to share my experience with YOU!
As a performer I've toured the country multiple times with various artists, sometimes playing to crowds as large as 7,000. I've been on dozens of recording sessions and I've performed in just about anything type of venue you can imagine.
As a teacher I've maintained a roster of private students for over 10 years while also teaching as adjunct faculty for multiple colleges in Massachusetts. Additionally, I have a music therapy background which has shaped and informed my teaching style.
My favorite genres are jazz, rock, R&B, country, metal, basically anything with rhythm! Lets connect and get you moving forward on your instrument.

A strongly devoted musical student throughout his grade school years, Patrick came to Boston in 2004 to study at Berklee College of Music. He is currently a multi-instrumentalist and music educator in the Boston area, touring with multiple New England groups. With a diverse background and teachin

I have been playing piano since the age of six. Originally classically trained, I made a change to learning Jazz after hearing it on the radio one night while still in high school.
I began my teaching career in 2007, providing private piano instruction to beginners at a small, privately owned music school in Laurel, Maryland.
After the school closed it's doors in the Fall of 2011, I continued working with many of the students privately. It is these efforts I continue to this day.
Having the opportunity to work 1 on 1 with students and see their progression and development on a week to week basis is a truly, rewarding experience that I feel fortunate to be a part of.
*** Lesson Details ***
Although the approach you take with each student will be different, basic standard requirements will consist of:
1) Being able to locate notes on the piano in relation to middle C
2) Being able to recognize notes on the staffs and play them in the correct locations on the ...

Experienced teacher of 10 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano student! Each student is unique; so I customize the lessons and repertoire to suit each student, utilizing Accelerated Piano Adventures and Supersonics Piano curriculum.
I work with each student to help mold their learning experience specifically to their individual needs. We will typically start with basic music theory and then move to exploring sight-reading, backing tracks and lots of fun piano pieces.
I incorporate a variety of fun rhythm patterns in the left hand to help with learning your scales. You'll also learn chords, arpeggios, sight-reading, improvisation, ear training, and basic music theory.
I will provide written individual feedback after each lesson to help remind the student of what we are working on. I hope to have the chance to share my love of music with you!
When you practice, you hear and feel the difference. If you don't practice, you'll remain in the same place, and ...

Murray does a great job of encouraging the student while he is teaching. He takes the time needed to explain the very basics before moving onto the more difficult concepts. He played for me and my family after my lesson was over! We really enjoyed it! He knows what he's doing and he has the instrument knowledge to back it up!"

Thanks Melissa for your good work. We are very happy to met her and will be keeping contact with her."
