Really great experience that was fun. Serg explained everything in a way that a nine year old could understand. For preparation for next week Serg made a video so Ashton could practice everything just like he taught him while in class.

Justin is flexible to both what you know and what you need improvement on and will quickly stretch to fortify your musical ability. He is never without a smile and never negatively criticizes. I would recommend him for any new students that are looking to learn or improve in piano.

As personalized as you want it to be, the guitar is a wonderful mode of expression. I have been playing for sixteen years as of 2015. Classical, jazz, blues, mostly acoustic guitar! Please contact me for more details.

About Lars
I began to teach guitar at 16 years of age. I have taught students from 7 to 60 years old in a wide variety of styles. From age 12 to 21 I took private guitar lessons regularly. Now I have a lesson every once in a while. I studied jazz guitar primarily with Randy Vincent, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's greatest guitar players. Aside from teaching lessons as a job, I have played guitar in many concerts and continue to do so. Before moving to San Francisco, I gained a lot of experience and valuable education with guitar. I played in the jazz bands in Junior High and High School. I went to four years of a week long summer jazz camp called jazz camp west where I took classes, played open mics and had fun with many musicians, making some good friends. I hold BA degrees in Music (Jazz Guitar) and Spanish, as well as an MA in Musi
c, from San Francisco State University. By now, I am confident in working with whatever musical material students offer! Thank you.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher, but I definitely expect students to practice what I suggest they practice. I advise that students use method books or sheet music of some sort, and I will certainly make notes for them and create materials they can learn from. I always teach based on the goals of the student and what type of music they enjoy, but I also like to guide the student in a direction I think would benefit them. I usually introduce music to play right away, conforming of course to the skill level and interest of the student. I now play seven-string guitar, which is just a six-string guitar (same tuning and technique) with an extra low string. It will be practical to aide students by accompanying with a bass range instrument.

*** Specialties ***
Guitar
I consider myself a Jazz musician, but I am happy to consider a very wide range of styles. I am focusing now on music of the Spanish Golden Age, 1500-1700.

About Nikola
Nikola M is locally recognized as a guitarist extraordinaire that specializes in teaching and performing progressive rock. Nikola's proven teaching methods have been acknowledged by San Diego's finest musicians and his students range from beginners to highly accomplished professionals.

In addition to stints in various rock bands, studio session work and 16 years of playing experience, Nik's development of teaching guitar was made possible by having achieved a firm musical background throughout his earlier years of performing with orchestra ensembles. As a classically trained brass player, Nikola studied music under college guitar professor Gary Tuttle and award winning SDSC band director/guitarist Phillip S. Marcus.

Nikola's client list has included the likes of music producer and composer Toby Weiss (son of jazz legend and Guitar I
nstitute of Technology co founder Joe Diorio) pro touring guitarist Christopher Eck of the band Masterguru, former students of guitar virtuosos Greg Howe and Joe Stump and many other serious amateur and professional musicians.

*** Lesson Details ***
Heavily influenced by legendary virtuoso guitarists Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen, Nikola's goal as a teacher is to convey his knowledge and expertise of the guitar on to others while emphasizing his own style, which exemplifies speed, intensity and finesse. While his exploits in rock guitar gymnastics continue to attract and inspire new players, Nik's approach to teaching is simplistic, yet highly effective and suitable for young beginners and adults of all ages.

Nikola M's guitar lessons are professional, insightful, progressive and cover a wide and exciting spectrum including:

Playing and teaching the guitar is my life's biggest passion. I began playing guitar in highschool in a rock band, and fell in love with the instrument. Since then I decided to major in music, became obsessed with classical guitar, and now I'm teaching classical guitar at UNLV while pursuing a doctorate of music there.

I teach all styles though, and I aim to help my students reach whatever goals with music they may have. I also have a good knowledge of music theory, something that's helpful in all musical endeavors. I'm also very good for beginners, as I can ensure no technical bad habits are developed.

I sat in on every lesson Michael gave my daughter, who had not studied guitar before. He uses the time effectively, balancing sight reading, repertoire development, music theory (which he presents in very practical and immediately useful ways), and at all times instilling the technique necessary to sustain rapid progress. My daughter really enjoyed studying with him, and I really enjoyed watching her go from a blank slate to a guitarist you want to listen to. I completely and unreservedly endorse this teacher.

Learn the Tricks of the trade and get up and going fast!!!

About John
I have 37 years of playing and 12 years of teaching beginning and intermediate drummers by ear, performance & notation. Preforming drums has brought so much enjoyment to my life and has expanded my cognitive and creative mind more than I would have ever realized when I started in 1978. Teaching/sharing my drumming experience is a passion, my students are taught not only how to play drums but also about music structure (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.), how to perform with other musicians and how to dissect a piece of music. Various styles and rhythms are taught and rudiments are covered thoroughly - nothing better than an impressive double stroke roll! I have always been a teacher that I feel can understand each personality and adjust my approach to each lesson as needed and furthermore, I always treat my students with respect, courtesy and
patience which I find makes them more apt to relax, listen, learn, feel the music and have fun!

John has been a great drum instructor for our 9 year old son. In a short period of time, John has taught him tons of skills and also helped develop his love of drumming. He keeps it fun, easy and motivational, but also has challenged our little drummer. He is very encouraging and positive with our son's progress. John is always on time and is a great communicator. I have been teaching professionally since 2011. I hold a masters degree from the University of Louisville, and a bachelors degree from Morehead State University, studying jazz guitar at both schools. I have been teaching students from ages 5-60 with varying skill levels. My lessons specialize in learning technique along with the music theory to back it up. I also teach how to read standard music notation, guitar tablature, and also guitar maintenance. My philosophy for teaching is that every one of my students will be able to function effectively in any musical genre that they choose, and be able to understand the theory behind what is being played.

About Josh
I am a professional guitarist, guitar teacher, composer, and audio engineer from Louisville, Ky. I hold a masters degree from the University of Louisville and a bachelors degree from Morehead State University, both studying jazz guitar performance.

My principle instrument teachers include Craig Wagner, Glenn Ginn, Peter Mazza, and Dani Rabin. I also studied music theory and improvisation under Chris Fitzgerald (bass), Gordon Towell (saxophone), Steven Snyder (piano/organ), Mike Tracy (saxophone), and Ansyn Banks (trumpet). I have been fortunate enough to perform at JEN (Jazz Education Network) convention, and KMEA (Kentucky Music Education Association). I have also performed with artists such as Eric Alexander, Jim Snydero (opened for him), Pat Coil, Jamey Aebersold, Ryan Cohen, Amina Figarova, and Dan Haerle, just to name a few.

My t
eaching career started in 2011 while I was at MSU. Since then, I have moved to Gittli Music Studios in Jeffersontown, and have worked with numerous students of all ages and skill levels. I frequently work with students that have never picked up the instrument. Students that have been playing for a year or less and are just getting their start. Also students that have been playing for years and just wanting to hone their skills and technique. All of my students after lessons with me should know the entire fretboard of the guitar, and be able to function effectively in any musical genre that they would like to play. I look forward to working with you, and sharing my knowledge of how make great music!
