About Matthew
Hi.. My name is Matt. I'm a very energetic, friendly, understanding & passionate music coach who has worked with students & clientele throughout the US. Possessing more than 25 years of music training & music industry experience, I've been able to take people's Playing to amazing levels.

In my musical travels I've networked or shared the stage with many famous NW music legends:
1.) Roger Fisher- Heart-2013 Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Inductee
2.) Lynn Sorensen- Paul Rogers/Bad Co/KZOK's Spike & Impalers
3.) Donny Evola - Geoff Tate/Former Queensryche/Foghat
4.) Jeff Kathan- Paul Rogers/Bad Company/Montrose
5.) Doug Mcgrew- Geoff Tate/Former Queensryche Singer/Operation Mindcrime
6.) Update - For the last year I have been playing off and on with Rudy Parris from NBC TV's "The Voice". Season 3 - Team Blake. He is an incredible music
ian and I'm proud to call him and his manager my friends. His new album coming out is nothing short of amazing.

In fact everyone I've mentioned above are pro all the way and great guys as well. I"m honored to have played with them.

I challenge my students to view music more than just as a "skill", but also a tool to communicate effectively and to combat life's obstacles.

I have had many guitar teachers myself including one true Famous Rock Star legend here in Pacific NW. Congrats Rog. U Earned It, & inspire myself, & others everyday.

You got to know the rules 1st, before you can then break the rules. This is how you develop your own unique style. And it's what separates the Pro Players from the rest of the pack.

But even if you don't want to play professionally, maybe you just want to learn a few chords, licks, songs, for yourself, or to impress friends. That's okay too!

I welcome every level and style. I always learn something from my students.
That's what music is all about. Learning & trading tips and licks from other musicians.

Bottom Line Is... I can help you learn and progress on your instrument faster...

Let me be the Music Coach to get you there!

Learn your favorite tunes! Single notes, bends, fun riffs and melodies. My love of the blues and Stevie Wonder is what drew me to the harmonica, and I really enjoy sharing that.

In the first several music lessons we establish overall music fundamentals. Good ears (notes), and good time feel (rhythm). We also get the basics of harmonica playing technique, and a song or two. After that, we expand into whatever music inspires you.

My hope is that I'll help you become a well round musician and harmonica player :-)

About Jordan
*Experienced teacher and professional musician...
-Has performed with:
Great Good Fine Ok, Leonard Patton, Gilbert Castellanos, Francisco Torres, 10,000 Maniacs, The Mighty Untouchables, Tori Roze & The Hot Mess, Gaslamp Quarter Jazz Orchestra, and many more.
-Recorded on national tv ads for Dreyer's, KFC, Coca-Cola.
-Over 6,000 private lessons taught to over 300 students.
-More than five years of teaching experience in classroom settings: K-5 general music, middle and high school band, under graduate music history, directing college music ensembles
-Students have included: ages 4-96, beginners with no experience, undergraduate music majors, scholarship award winners, members of the San Diego Youth Symphony program, many locals in San Diego, and online students from around the world :)

My mission is to provide a positive musical experience for all students. For some this includes rigorous preparation for an audition of some kind, for others it may be an introduction to music fundamentals to foster better listening skills and greater artistic appreciation. All students will be challenged to improve their listening, timing, and technique. All students will learn to play songs that they love.

Recommendations for best results: make a three-month commitment to weekly lessons, and work up to 30 minutes of daily practice. This formula guarantees results. Bring your instrument, music books, and a binder with sheet protectors ☺

*Scheduling policy: to avoid being charged for a lesson - One week notice is required to cancel, skip, or "roll over" a lesson. 24 hours notice to reschedule (based on availability).

To continue weekly lessons, students must maintain at least 90% attendance or the time slot may be forfeited.

Good Luck!

Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

While performing in South Florida Jordan appeared with major acts including 10,000 Maniacs, and appeared on the Spanish television show "Calle Ocho." He also gained invaluable experience teaching in Miami public schools. His first teaching assignment was at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School where he directed 3 beginning bands, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and their highly decorated Jazz Band. Later Jordan moved into the elementary setting, teaching vocal and instrumental music for grades K-5 at Cypress Elementary.

In 2007, Jordan returned to California to pursue a music career in San Diego. He can be seen performing all over San Diego, Orange, and LA Counties in styles ranging from rock, jazz, funk, blues, hip-hop, Latin, and more. He performs primarily on trombone, piano, and guitar, but is known to pick up percussion, harmonica, and other wind instruments as well. Jordan, along with the rest of the aggressively funky cover band SuperMagnetic, were the grand prize winner of the 2010 Viejas Ultimate Music Challenge 4. In 2011, Tori Roze & The Hot Mess were nominated for a San Diego Music Award in the category of "Best Blues Artist" after the release of their first album "From The Hip." They released their second album "Turbulence" last December, and are heard regularly on local San Diego radio. This album has also been nominated for Best Pop album for the 2013 San Diego Music Awards. In 2013, Jordan completed his Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University.

On stage, Jordan is a talented and versatile performer. He is known for his trombone sound and improvisational ability, as well as his positive relationship with his fellow musicians. In lessons, Jordan is energetic and creative.

The chromatic harmonica was my first instrument which I taught myself by ear at the age of 5. It's perfect for playing melodies. I can play "blues harp" as well which is also a lot of fun and has a different kind of expressive feel with the bending. Whichever one you're interested in learning, I can help you hit the ground running with one of the most portable and enjoyable instruments out there! It's all about the feeling and the fun of it!

About Mark V
Mark V has been “Specializing In Melody” since the age of 5 when he discovered his natural ability to play and create catchy tunes by teaching himself the harmonica by ear. He went on to learn the accordion at 10, the piano at 12, MIDI and synthesizers at 15, the guitar at 30, and a long list of other exotic instruments along the way, completely by ear. He has collected rare synthesizers since 1984 and has well over a 100 in his collection. Mark V is also Pro Tools certified and has been teaching Pro Tools, MIDI, music production, composing, keyboard techniques & sound design since 1998 having won numerous academic awards. Mark V has a BA from UCSC in an individual major of Audio/Visual Composition. He wears many hats including his first passion as a prolific composer, BMI/BMG songwriter, producer, sound designer, Pro Tools editor, MI
DI expert & programmer, writer, consultant & teacher inspiring his students to become better than they ever dreamed possible all while having FUN!

Great teacher. Been learning guitar from Andrew on an off for years. It's great to have an instructor who was /is a touring pro who can lead you in the right direction with music theory, instrument instruction as well as stagecraft. In addition to mandolin/guitar and harmonica, there are many unwritten codes and tricks that only a battle tested touring musician is able to pass on if you are looking to get out there and play with other musicians at the any level.

Diatonic harmonica lessons to all levels. Howard Levy was our teacher!

About Leidys
Hi, I love to teach children as young as 3 years old and adults using our own Brain-Based Piano Method, a Mindful and Comprehensive System to learn music and piano that incorporates the latest scientific findings on how we learn. We, my husband and I, started creating this method in 2012 when we could not find a comprehensive method created with today's children needs in mind. We want our students to truly enjoy music making, and to achieve that they need to know what they are doing, they need to learn to understand how music works. We are proud to say that our method is fun, engaging, effective and practical. our students learn from early on the basics of music: ear training, music theory, form, piano technique, reading and writing notes, and more. But more than anything else, we encourage our students to be creative from the very begin
ning. Our method is a complete system for learning the piano that includes books, CDs, rewards, teaching materials, musical story books and video tutorials accessible online. When you Join us, you will become part of a creative and dynamic studio! You will learn how to see the connections present in music and to transfer all that knowledge to other aspects of your lives. I hope to meet you soon to start a very exciting musical learning journey!

My daughter loves going to piano class, and asks when she is going back. I am amazed by the things that she has learned so quickly, and in such a short period of time. Each class introduces her to something new, or allows her to strengthen her skills in a new way. This method of teaching piano is so innovative because my daughter has learned how to play the right and left hand of a musical score with clapping and body movements. She has also learned to conduct, play with 5 fingers, and sing songs. All of this, and she has only had 4 classes. The connection to math and reading are amazing, and are evident during each moment. Highly recommended.

They also provide piano classes for adults and their method is great!!! Only great things can be said about these amazing and caring teachers!!

I specialize playing harmonica in a various combination of modern music genres. I can teach you everything you need to know to get going on Blues, Rock and Folk within a few lessons. With a little dedication I can show you all my tricks to playing in different keys over Jazz, Pop and even E.D.M.

About Gonzalo
The harmonica is my whole world. I first witness the harmonica live at a Festival, I was in awe. I waited after the harmonica player got off stage and right then and there asked about lessons, I spent 5 years training with that man as my blues harmonica mentor. I'd like to share the big magic of this little instrument with you. You'll be surprised how with a bit of practice and patience we can quickly get you from the basics to making fun, musical, expressive sounds along with your favorite tunes. I presently play a variety of traditional americana music and experiment with more modern styles of alternative and electronic dance music, playing the harmonica acoustically and through computer software.

I take pride in customizing my teaching techniques for each individual student. Guiding them to a place where playing music on the harmon
ica can be stress free and a joy. Playing harmonica has always been the highlight of my day, I love showing others how to achieve the same.

As a fellow/professional musician in San Diego, I'd have to say that Gonzalo is one of the premier harmonica players in the area. He has a diverse background in music, understands and can perform a multitude of styles, works well with others, is charismatic, and has a great ear! As a teacher, he tailors lessons to the individual student based on his/her goals and background, but most importantly, he loves music, and his enthusiasm rubs off on his students and others around him. Peter Buys is one of Chicago's most sought-after classical guitar, folk guitar, and harmonica instructors. Graduating from Bradley University with a Bachelor's in Music Education, he is well-equipped to provide the highest instruction possible to learners throughout Chicagoland. He is currently employed full-time as a music teacher with Elmhurst District 205 Schools. Peter has taught thousands of private lessons to children and adult learners alike. Outside of music education, Peter has performed nationally as a singer-songwriter alongside acts such as Dawes, Tall Heights, AA Bondy, Elvis Perkins, Lera Lynn, Nikki Lane and Carbon Leaf. His experience playing Chicago venues such as Lincoln Hall, Evanston Space, Schubas and the Metro is beneficial for advanced students looking to perform in Chicago.

Peter teaches with the belief that musi
c should never feel like a chore and that learning music should be curiosity-driven, active, enjoyable, and emphasize self-expression. Peter believes in building a strong foundation of musical knowledge with his students by providing the tools to create good habits from the beginning and to encourage effective, deliberate practice. It is his mission to inspire aspiring musicians as a music educator and bring a life-long love of music to his students.

*** Guitar Lesson Details ***
During a typical lesson, half of the allotted time is used to develop proper technique (i.e., learning proper playing habits, scales, learning to read music.) The second half involves playing songs and repertoire. The repertoire includes pieces chosen by Peter and pieces brought in by the student. The genre and style of music learned is dictated by the student’s interest.

***Harmonica Lesson Details***
Harmonica lessons specifically focus on blues harmonica, cross harp, and alternate harmonica positions.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I travel with my travel guitar and music for lessons. Students are expected to have their own guitar or harmonica. Guitar rentals are available for beginning students.

Cross harp was something that confused me, Peter was able to explain it better than I have ever heard. We are currently working on bends. He is always able to explain something in a different way when needed.

My daughter has been taking lessons from Peter for about 1 year in Beverly. He has made made music fun for her, and has done a great job picking pieces for her skill level and walking her through.

Starting with scales, arpeggios and some basic repertoire I feel I am finally starting to read music and get the hang of it, which was my goal when starting several months ago. Would recommend!
