I took up harmonica when I started songwriting, about five years ago. Inspired by Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and other pop/rock acts, I incorporated diatonic harp playing into my original songs. I later picked up blues style playing, improvisation, and other techniques. I'm happy to share my skills and techniques with harmonica players of all skill levels.

The chromatic harmonica was my first instrument which I taught myself by ear at the age of 5. It's perfect for playing melodies. I can play "blues harp" as well which is also a lot of fun and has a different kind of expressive feel with the bending. Whichever one you're interested in learning, I can help you hit the ground running with one of the most portable and enjoyable instruments out there! It's all about the feeling and the fun of it!

About Mark V

Mark V has been “Specializing In Melody” since the age of 5 when he discovered his natural ability to play and create catchy tunes by teaching himself the harmonica by ear. He went on to learn the accordion at 10, the piano at 12, MIDI and synthesizers at 15, the guitar at 30, and a long list of o

I really appreciate Mark's teaching ability. He breathes music and make it easy to understand. I wasn't expecting to make that much progress or to have that depth of knowledge of music or my instrument in only 5 lessons. He gives a lot and he is eager to respond to my questions. I recommend Mark as a accordion teacher.

Mark V. was great. He knew how to keep class fun and engaging. He truly cares and teaches piano in a way that is intuitive and can be applied to more than one instrument.

"Winslow is an excellent teacher and I feel fortunate to be learning from him. He is a harmonica master, both in his playing and in his in deep knowledge of the mechanics of the harp and how to play it. He has literally written books on learning to play (Harmonica for Dummies, Blues Harmonica for Dummies).
What I like about our lessons is that he's a great listener. He can hear where I need work and he offers not just one but often several exercises and riffs that address the issue. In addition, he knows the blues, the players, the songs, and the harp riffs for reference. To top it off his manner is light and warm. I feel honored to be learning from him."

He brings his wealth of musical knowledge and performance experience, meets you right where you are, and leads you to the next level . He is also adaptable in tailoring his lessons to help you go where YOU want to go, no matter what style or level of expertise you wish to master.
I would highly recommend Clint for anyone at any level who wants to broaden and deepen their harmonica skill."

"Brand new music student learning harmonica. Jimmy has been great working with a new student having no background in music. He provides both music theory and simple to follow instructions for learning to play. Taking lessons online has not been an issue. Follow-up for each lesson is provided by email and Jimmy is very responsive to questions between lessons.

I'll continue taking lessons with Jimmy and expand to other instruments."

"My 5 star rating is not given lightly. I am now retired after almost 40 years teaching in a school for special needs children. Tim does it all right. A great guy with a laid-back, easy way. Tim is very supportive and will ease any anxiety you may have. He understands the process of learning and knows how to teach! Tim makes things fun, he will challenge you at your level. He’ll give you riffs and drills that quickly link to songs, so in no time you’re playing. Tim has all the skills and tricks and will make them accessible to you. He will help you key in on what’s important to keep you moving in your process.

Keep your harp handy, listen to Tim, give it 10 minutes 3x a day, and you’ll be “killing it” in no time. But, it’s all about the process, and Tim makes it fun! Look no further.
My only regret is that I am unable to give Tim 6 stars!"

I wholeheartedly recommend lessons from Tim to any aspiring harp player that has a love for the blues and playing the harp."
