I have been playing flute and piano for over 20 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Flute Performance. I love working one on one with students to help them reach their goals in music. Whether that goal is for the joy and fun for music or a specific goal (ie College). I can teach in a traditional studio setting or I can set up virtual lessons.

Playing the flute has given me so much joy, and it is my dream to pass that joy along to others. Music lessons can offer you so much more than a new skill or getting better at an instrument; they can improve your mental health, your confidence, and even help kids do better in school! Good music teachers teach their students how to find beauty in everything, to think more critically, and to see mistakes as opportunities for growth. In all my lessons, beginner to advanced, students learn how to make beautiful music, sight reading, basic music theory, and safe practice strategies. We work out of the Rubank method book, but I also utilize handwritten exercises. I also always encourage my students to bring music they want to learn!
Absolute Beginners: In our very first lesson, students learn the parts of the flute and how to make a sound. We learn about flute care, and how to correctly hold the flute. Basic music theory is ...

I have played the flute for the past ten years including jazz and pop music, as well as marches and symphonies. As a teacher, it's important to me that students enjoy what they're doing and not only develop a strong foundation of theory but also a love for music. I think there is value in everything musical and I cater my lessons to my students' interests and goals.

I vary students’ lessons with their interests and find the best teaching methods and practices to fit their needs. Because I believe everyone is different and unique. No one can stop you on learning anything but yourself. Therefore, I want students to focus on every lesson and have to practice outside of class which are required and important. Playing music is fun but learning takes time!!
