Having taught piano lessons for over 20 years, I enjoy working with everyone, beginner to advanced, young, and the young at heart. Depending on the student, I will choose from a number of different methods, (Alfred, Hanon, Bastien, Hal Leonard, and more,) to find the best match for each individual student. Are you an intermediate or advanced pianist that wants to learn how to improvise, play with a band, use a chart, and compose your own music, etc? Creative conceptual learning will help to use the skills you already have and to apply new techniques to make you a more versatile musician. It's never too late to start!

About Tiffini
I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. While my love for performing has lessened over the years, I have found my true calling: teaching, directing, and helping others to find their passion for music and the performing arts.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special emphasis in music, theatre, dance, and psychology. I am a graduate candidate working on completing my thesis as my final requirement for a Masters of Arts degree in Music at San Diego State University.
Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), California Association of Profession
al Music Teachers (CAPMT), and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

I have them try different styles of music and also help them with solos they want to learn and familiar music like Mario Brothers, movie music, and popular music. I teach through Suzuki Piano Book 6. They also learn classical music, rag time, jazz, and other styles. Music should be fun. Lessons combine various musical activities to keep the student stimulated and focused.

I am most comfortable using simple methods for teaching children. The student will become acclimated to the instrument and move through recognized, engaging study materials some of which have prerecorded tracks for the student to listen to at home.

About Anthony
I was originally trained on Saxophone, Voice and basic piano skills at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. My professional experience has been working as a traveling house band for the Ted Allen Agency in Chicago as well as numerous types of classic rock, fusion rock, jazz, jazz standards and fusion jazz and wedding bands. I'm currently studying at Miracosta Community College to complete my music degree to advance to a 4 year University in Music Education. I have been requested to play baritone sax in the Miracosta Oceanside Jazz Orchestra (MOJO) and also play with the Collective a smaller jazz ensemble taught by Steve Torok. This year I have been teaching before and after school music classes with children from 8 to 13. Our focus has been elementary training incorporating basic music theory, harmony and rhythm as well as instruments such
as clarinet and flute as well as sax.

Learn the Tricks of the trade and get up and going fast!!!

About John
I have 37 years of playing and 12 years of teaching beginning and intermediate drummers by ear, performance & notation. Preforming drums has brought so much enjoyment to my life and has expanded my cognitive and creative mind more than I would have ever realized when I started in 1978. Teaching/sharing my drumming experience is a passion, my students are taught not only how to play drums but also about music structure (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.), how to perform with other musicians and how to dissect a piece of music. Various styles and rhythms are taught and rudiments are covered thoroughly - nothing better than an impressive double stroke roll! I have always been a teacher that I feel can understand each personality and adjust my approach to each lesson as needed and furthermore, I always treat my students with respect, courtesy and
patience which I find makes them more apt to relax, listen, learn, feel the music and have fun!

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. I am so impressed with Madi as a piano instructor for a simple reason-- she has both a real love and natural talent for music AND she knows her technical stuff-- music theory and how to teach different ages. Too many teachers are either/or that way so I really connected with how she balances both the artistic and music loving aspects with solid technique on the piano. I definitely would recommend her as a piano instructor.
