About Chris
Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!

I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.

Alas!

As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.

Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to ha
ve as these things are important regardless of your favorite music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.

Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.

Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.

We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*

By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar/violin students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will bring picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.

*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin. I have also studied Irish and Celtic folk music for instruments such as Mandolin and Violin.

Obviously very talented guitar play- but I prefer a teacher who knows traditional Hawaiian Ukelele. He left me with a lot to practice which is great - but I would prefer a teacher who knows the Uke better.

Teaching piano begins with learning, playing, knowing, and loving the piano and the music it can produce. You will learn the music theory (scales to modes, rhythm, music signs), develop a good piano technic, improve sight reading. I teach classical and contemporary styles.

About George
I am so glad you’re here!

The music lessons for young children are full of fun, interactive activities with iPads apps and traditional methods that not only help develop a strong musical foundation and build essential life skills, but offer a unique bonding experience for you and your child.

Discover for yourself why families love my innovative music lessons for kids.

YES! Music Matters!

The curriculum is built on research that proves MUSIC MATTERS. Music affects virtually every aspect of development and when young children are consistently engaged by music during the “musical window” they benefit at many levels.

What about private lessons?

Do I believe in private lessons? You bet! But I know from experience that private lessons are most valuable for older kids who have the ability to concentrate in a one-to-one setti
ng.

With this Private setting you will have a solid foundation in keyboard skills and music theory and typically excel quickly in their continued music education and when learning other instruments. The education and experiences a child has in my music program sets them up for success with private instruction.

Music Program

Builds spatial-temporal reasoning skills critical for greater success in math and science studies.

Music students out-perform non-music students on achievement tests in reading and math.

Music students receive more academic honors and awards than non-music students.

Develops social and emotional skills including the ability to relate to others and better express ideas, and less likely to have behavior/discipline problems.

I offer up to 2 recitals a year so that you can perform everything you know.

Feel free to reach out and let's setup some lessons.

Thank you, George F.

George, was very patient, kind, and seem very knowledgeable. He seems to understand the pedagogy of teaching to kids and realize they all learn differently. I personally think he went above and beyond for my Son first class and for our first introduction. He offered a more modern approach method of teaching music and Piano to my son who so far seem more receptive in learning and practicing. Will se where that take us but I am very please so far.

About Rhonda
With over 20 years of experience as a musician, piano teacher, and music director, I am able to explore all aspects of musical theory and make the piano an enjoyable and exciting instrument to learn to play.

My lessons will be rhythmically exciting, and never boring. I always have book lessons as well as personal musical pieces that the student would like to work on. I most often will incorporate ear training in all of my lessons without being obvious about it, as well as performance. I believe it should be music that speaks to the heart.

Not only will students achieve their goals in learning to play their favorite song or actually play well, they will find a peace and a calm in freely exploring the art of music. Whether they find it to be an escape from it all, or their future with a musical career, it shall be achieved.

D
id you know that a troubled child can find rest and recovery from getting involved in the arts, especially that of the piano? Did you know that as a remedy from feeling despair and hopelessness, the piano is a proven healer? Wouldn't you like to play a song to a friend or a neighbor and make them feel better today? TAKE PIANO LESSONS!!... YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY...

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living Room: 3 pianos (upright piano and 2 digital 88 keys weighted). Microphones, amps. Music stands, additional seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
A piano, or at least a 40-key keyboard instrument that has depth of sound. A good quality instrument, because if not, they will lose interest.

I have a Roland-88 key traveling digital piano instrument. This can go wherever I go. I also own a Technics Digital piano that has all sound capabilities and recording features. I also own an Howard or Baldwin Upright piano, which plays beautifully for those getting to know a true piano sound and control of its pedal.

*** Specialties ***
contemporary gospel, jazz, show tunes, semi-classical

PLAYING THE VIOLIN IS FUN! An orchestra of my own young students played for my own wedding. I currently am teaching a set of triplets in my studio. I have gone Christmas caroling on horseback with my violin. I played fiddle music with my string quartet as the Bride rode up the isle on a horse. I have performed at Renaissance Faires. When Los Angeles Rock DJ Dave Richards, the host of top rated 101.5 KGB-FM morning show Dave, Shelly & Chainsaw was getting married he chose my Rock String Quartet to play at his own wedding.

Anna was amazing, we got so much accomplished during our hour session. She was able to take her highly skilled experience and assess exactly where our daughter was at. Ms. Shirley has been teaching my two kids (daughter 9 & son 7) for almost 2 years now. She is very dedicated and passionate about music. She challenges my children to try hard and learn good habits. She is flexible in how she approaches both of their lessons given my daughter applies more focus and discipline to her piano than my son. She tries to find ways to keep my son encouraged and interested in learning. She is very accommodating at her home and gives my children space to do their homework. I am very pleased with Ms. Shirley's knowledge, capability and dedication to teaching piano. She is a wonderful teacher.

I am a professional composer, pianist, songwriter, and author. I graduated from The National Conservatory with a PH of Music Composition.

Piano students can learn any song they like, but I follow the syllabus from the California Music Conservatory, which makes the learning here, very professional. I can help any student to learn at their own pace, with confidence.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano for 20 years, and also I can teach modern music. The system I use is unique, organized and has everything you will ever need to learn, Chords, Scales, Songs, Studies and more.

I have written music for bands, solo singers, soundtracks for movies and more, I have my own website where you can find all my compositions songnes.com. My books can be found in any music store and on line just
type Victor M Barba books in Google and you will see them.

My personal passion is film music but I believe you can learn any style you want using the method of the Conservatory. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to have fun while learning to play the Piano!
