Together we will learn the beginning essentials to playing the cello and reading cello music. I focus on good technique from the beginning so a student should expect to spend a good amount of time in lessons on technique exercises and posture checks. We will also learn music based on the student's experience.

More than just a passive teacher of the violin, Mr. Nader dedicates his time and energy as a full time instructor of violin, cello, and music theory. Furthermore, Mr. Nader exhibits a level of knowledge, intellect, understanding, and culture rarely seen in the world today. When one walks into his music room, one will be struck with awe at not only the amount of books in Mr. Nader's library collection, but also the wide variety of subjects ranging from Music, Music History, Biographies, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, and many more. However, do not think that these books are just for display. Quite the contrary, one short conversation with Mr. Nader will show that he is well versed in all these subjects; a modern incarnation of the Renaissance polymath. Building off of his broad knowledge base, Mr. Nader not only teaches one how to play an instrument, he also teaches one how to cultivate oneself in Music and the culture from which it originates.
With a passion for Music and a yearn to pass on higher culture to the avid learner, Mr. Nader is the best instructor for all those who wish to learn Music along with its connection to the history, society, and culture from which it springs.

Playing Cello is challenging and the enjoyment is extreme. That's why many people are ready to go through this tough way in hope of being able to master this magic instrument. I have played Cello for 20 years and I cannot imagine to live without this instrument. In this course I'll try to help you to go through an academic way of playing and ease the learning of the instrument. I'll use different books in this course. We'll play scales, arpeggios and lots of small pieces out of different resources. You may be able to learn many instruments on your own, but Cello is absolutely not one of them.
About Bijan

I learned a lot with her and enjoy playing with her duets on the violin. Because of her I got into Gold Cost Youth Orchestra where I met one of her violin students Sharri. She encouraged me to stay focused on my playing and to perform chamber music with her. Very well organized teacher, I will recommend her for any age."

I've been taking cello lessons from Bijan for about 2 years now, and his instruction has caused me take a greater appreciation for music on the whole. Cello is my first instrument and I was worried that, as an adult player just starting out, I'd have to hunt around for an effective teacher. I was very, very lucky in getting Bijan as my teacher. His credentials are unmatched and his talent across multiple musical styles is amazing. Any question you have, from instrument choice to deep music theory, he has an answer for. He has also been incredibly patient with me, even when I seemed frustrated and ready to give up. I probably would have if it had not been for his encouragement and help. Bijan would absolutely be my first choice for anyone in the San Diego area wanting to learn music."

I really appreciate Angela!"

Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the cello is not difficult, but it’s important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way.
