Awarded Lake Placid International Flute Seminar Performer from Lake Placid International Flute Seminar
My teaching career began while I was a Conservatory graduate student. Teaching and performing are complementary aspects of being a musician. Instructing others provides a deeper, more thorough understanding of my own approach to playing. Several decades of performing in professional orchestras and chamber music ensembles grants a life time of practical experience to share with my students.
While the serious pursuit of a professional level of accomplishment on two diverse instruments such as the violin and the flute is unusual, the idiomatic characteristics of each one have given me unique insights into other. Over the years I have discovered concepts that have enhanced my performing and teaching of both. These ideas have allowed me to present an integrated approach and perspective for both instruments that not many other teachers would have.
My pedagogical philosophy provides the aspiring student with a greater understanding of the other instruments with whom they will ...
Taking a "road less traveled" as both a violinist and a flutist, Jami has spent a lifetime pursuing achievements on two diverse orchestral instruments. She is an active free lance musician on both instruments in Pittsburgh, PA and the metropolitan Kansas City area. She also performed frequently in
Jami was an amazing teacher! She was personable, encouraging and alleviated all my fears and concerns. She understood my busy schedule and was very accommodating. The lessons were more relaxed than I had initially anticipated. It did not take long before I began feeling comfortable handling the violin and bow. Through Jami, I also learned a great deal about the history and construction of the violin, music for the violin and music theory.
Jami taught a mix of Suzuki, scales and multiple technique and method books; all complementing each other on my path to progressing as a violinist. As an adult, it was nice to gradually incorporate more tunes a mature adult would appreciate playing while continuing to build on the basics. After the first few months, I particularly enjoyed learning how to play violin duets with Jami or having Jami accompany me on the piano. I always left my lessons with a feeling of accomplishment.
I only ceased lessons due to Jami relocating, but I am looking forward to online lessons once I am more technologically capable of doing so. You will not be disappointed if choosing Jami as a teacher!

I have a wealth of experience as a trumpeter and music teacher, and hold three degrees in music: DMA from Univ. of Georgia, MM from UT-Austin, and BM from N. Dakota State Univ. I am trained mostly in and play primarily "classical" trumpet, but have experience performing and teaching jazz and pop/commercial styles. Working with kids and adults on music is enjoyable and fulfilling, and I strive to help students as much as possible.

BM Jazz Performance from Berkee College of Music
I have been teaching for the past 8 years, and have worked with any age or skill level you can imagine. This has allowed me to create a methodology that will make sure you obtain the foundation you need in order to thrive at playing an instrument, but never lose track of what kind of music you're looking towards learning, and where your interests lie. I also have extensive performing experience having played and learned styles such as Flamenco (my first introduction to music), Jazz (I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Jazz Performance), Rock, Blues, Classical music and many more.
I have a Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and a Masters Degree from Queens College in Jazz performance, studying under musicians such as Mike Moreno, Antonio Hart, Alain Mallet, David Berkman, Michael Mossman, Tim Miller and many

I am a Horn Player attending the Juilliard School of the Arts. With this whole Corona Virus stuff happening, I am home needing a way to raise money to pay for my education, but I am also looking for a way to keep learning and growing. In addition, I feel that because I am younger it is easier for me to connect with students. However, I know some people avoid younger people because they have a lack of experience, but I want my students to know that I am more than qualified. Having been alumni of several prestigious camps such as Eastern Music Festival and Brevard Music Camp, as well as being a member of several youth orchestras and the Texas All-State Orchestra, I have learned so much. And I would love to share that with a student.
Hi! My name is Paige Quillen. I'm a horn player attending the Juilliard School of Music and I would love to be your teacher! I am younger than most other teachers out there, but I promise I have the experience and dedication to help you succeed. I have studied with several larger names in the music

She has a way of identifying and correcting things in a kind and supportive way.
I take private lessons and I also enjoy her student workshops. Wendy provides a safe and open environment for singers to work on material, performance ability and vocal skills. I always have fun, learn something new, make new friends and all at a reasonable price! Whether you are a beginner or a professional you will enjoy the time spent with Wendy and you will walk out the door a better singer and performer than when you walked in!"
