About Rebecca
I have been teaching piano for over 18 years. I played piano and keyboards in a band for several years, and I have been playing piano and singing at church for over nine years. I can help you learn the proper technique and musical skills for any kind of playing in the future, with more advanced teaching for classical piano. I can also teach chord playing for students that want to quickly learn their favorite songs. I'll even help you learn how to sing along!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have a lot of fun at my lessons, but I emphasize the importance of practice. For beginning students, I like to use the Alfred's Basic Piano Library (that teaches piano playing and note reading), which I supplement with fun games, history projects and music journal topics to ensure my students get a well-rounded music education while enjoying what they
are doing. I also host a yearly recital (which is also for online students) so my students will all get a chance to show off their skills! I create a custom curriculum for my more advanced students.

*** Equipment/Books ***
I will supply the curriculum for local students at their cost. I choose the curriculum for online students to order on the Internet. The student must have a suitable keyboard or piano.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Complete 5-piece Drum Set

*** Specialties ***
I teach the Moeller Method. This is a system of technique which involves three basic wrist motions. The basics can be taught in one lesson, but the application takes a lifetime. I also teach all popular styles of contemporary drum set, such as rock, jazz, funk, r&b, and many different Latin styles. I work with students on reading both on snare drum and drum set and also get them playing along and transcribing with recordings of whatever style of music is of interest to them.

About Allison
Hi! My name is Allison and I'm an opera singer. I fell madly in love with music and singing as a young child and was bitten by the opera bug at age 15. Ever since seeing that first opera, I've never looked back. I did lead roles in my high school musicals, then got my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Music degrees in Classical Voice and Opera Performance both from competitive conservatories. Ever since graduation, I've been lucky enough to make my work as a professional singer. I've traveled all over the country and even internationally bringing this amazing art form to audiences. Now I feel like my dream has come true because I get to do what I love: sing! Pavarotti said, "I think a life in music is a life beautifully spent and this is what I have devoted my life to." I feel so lucky to have a life in music and now I want to s
hare everything I've learned with you.

Students of mine regularly are chosen for lead roles in school and extracurricular musicals and operas and score very high in school music evaluations.

*** Lesson Details ***
During a voice lesson with me, we'll warm up and do vocal exercises for the first half, then we'll learn new music together or work on music you've already learned. I love teaching all styles of classical music and working in many different languages including French, German, Italian, English, and more. I teach lyric diction of all of these languages and the styles of each composer. Above all, lessons with me are relaxed and really fun!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room w/ electronic piano and seating for parents

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Classical Vocal Technique. I feel very comfortable assigning repertoire of any difficulty and I am especially confident in my lyric diction knowledge of Italian, French, German, and English. I can teach audition preparation and audition technique, as well as acting and stage technique for singers.

Allison is amazing! I told her I thought I was tone deaf during our first lesson lol. I was so nervous but she is such a great coach and really makes you feel comfortable. My singing has improved so much and my family and friends are able to notice. She has helped me to build confidence in my voice. I'm even recording songs now! So grateful to have her as a coach. Thank you Allison!

About Cameron
Cameron began playing guitar at the age of 14, as a kid who found great Inspiration in classic rock music, idolizing such groups as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, and many more. This was only the beginning of a life long intimate relationship with music and guitar playing. Since his first introduction to the guitar he quickly grew, establishing a love for blues and all of its incarnations, from Chicago Blues to the varying acoustic and electric styles found in New Orleans, Mississippi, and South Carolina among other places.
Through high school Cameron played in rock and blues bands writing original music and getting his first real experiences as a composer and a bandleader. High School was also the place where Cameron discovered his interest in Jazz music as he began playing guitar in the school's Jazz band. Following hi
gh school Cameron began playing more jazz music as he attended Bellevue College studying theory and composition with Dr. Brian Cobb and guitar performance with Mark Hillard Wilson. After this he soon met renowned Jazz Guitarist Chris Spencer, with whom he studied with for years to follow.
Cameron eventually found himself at Cornish College of the Arts where he received a Bachelors degree in Music Composition. While at Cornish he had the opportunity to play guitar and compose for Jazz Orchestras, Latin Jazz ensembles, and Modern Jazz groups while playing under the direction of internationally know musicians such as Wayne Horvitz, Tom Varner, Jovino Santos Neto and Chuck Deardorf.
In the realm of composition Cameron studied privately with composers Jarrad Powell and Tom Baker, with a deep focus in contemporary classical music. He is now the composer for the quickly rising interdisciplinary arts group the Pendleton House.
Currently Cameron spends his time working as a guitar player in Seattle while also writing chamber music for various ensembles and art groups. He performs on a regular basis with a variety of groups in the Seattle area including the Seattle based jazz trio Honeysuckle Rye, folk and bluegrass group Modern Bygones, as well as the orchestral pop band Sebastian and the Deep Blue.

*** Lesson Details ***
In the world of music education it is important to recognize that everyone learns differently and there is no universally prescribed teaching method that works for all students. Everyone must find how he or she learns best. As a teacher I acknowledge this and incorporate it into my method of instruction. Anyone can find success as a proficient instrumentalist if they are able to learn on there own terms and find what they are doing enjoyable.
Lessons will start with an assessment of what the student wants to learn and what their goals are. From there, we will determine the proper approach to meet those goals while keeping things fun and interesting. Once a particular skill level and interest are established I will develop an individualized lesson plan for the student to fit their wants and needs. The goal with beginning students is to get them up and running right away with chords and melodies, learning the fundamentals while being able to play their favorite songs. For all students I like to extensively focus on knowledge of the fret board and the many possible approaches to mastering it, as well as looking at creative practice methods and daily routines. A musician’s method of practicing can greatly determine their rate of improvement. For more intermediate and advanced students the general focus will shift to topics such as ear training, rhythm, music theory and music notation (if desired) and, their application to the guitar.
For students interested in composition, we will focus more on analysis and the application of theory. We will look at songs or pieces that are of interest to the student and take them apart to figure out what makes them great. We will also look at many different kinds of music and their construction. A large part of music composition in the 21st century is the integration of electronic and computer music. For students looking for an introduction into pre-recorded and live electronic music with or without the use of guitar or other instruments, this is strength of mine that I love to teach.
Whether you are a serious musician or just looking for a fun hobby, I can get you where you want to be in your musical life. I’m fun, friendly and music is my passion and profession and I love to share it.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring extra guitars if needed, acoustic or electric.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in getting beginners up and running right away while helping each guitarist to find there own voice and have fun at the same time! When playing non-original music I specialize in blues, jazz and popular music.

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Cameron. His studio is great and he loves music. I learned some basic musical concepts and got to play a song at my first lesson...an old blues song that has been recorded by many different kinds of artists. I went home with assignments to practice tuning, a few chords, rhythm, and finger picking....just some introductory experiences. Cameron is professional and obviously loves teaching people I look forward to my next lesson!

About Joshua
ABOUT ME:
My name is Joshua Turner, I have been singing and playing instruments for over 10 years. I have been trained in the styles of rock, pop, blues, R&B, folk, classical, and opera. I got my vocal training from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where I studied voice. I was trained by the best vocal teachers in the country and I have lots of Berklee curriculum to base my teachings off of. I also attended Musicians Institute for guitar study.

MY TEACHING STYLE:
My teaching style is very simple and to the point, the goal is to learn how to use your instrument. I don't like to get too technical about it because it can actually slow your progression down if you do. The simplest way that I was taught to sing is that "if it hurts, you are singing wrong." That is why vocal exercises are so important to keep your voice stro
ng so you can build stamina and avoid pain, I also have audio vocal exercises that I can provide. I don't like to put people down while they are learning because I know that singing and playing an instrument is a really sensitive thing and that could cause the singer or musician to stop singing or playing completely, which defeats the whole purpose. I have experience in all forms of music from live rock shows, to teaching music in pre-schools. I teach confidence!

THE BENEFITS OF MY MUSIC LESSONS:

-Higher self esteem

-Better grades

-More confidence

-Stronger social skills

-And so much more!

You are actually learning all of the above things, while simultaneously learning your instrument! If you follow the lesson plan that I provide you, my GUARANTEE is that you will become a noticeably better musician and singer and unlock a new found confidence within 4 lessons (1 month).

MUSIC EDUCATION:
Musicians Institute- Guitar Performance (April- November 2010)
Berklee College of Music- Vocal Performance (September 2007- May 2009)

AWARDS:
Berklee achievement scholarship (2008)

"My mission is to strengthen individuals by helping them build confidence, self esteem, and identity through the gift of music!"

About Alex
Hello!

I am a 25-year-old drummer looking to build out my private drum lessons business. I've been playing for over 10 years, and I attended music school at EWU. I often play shows around town with my band, Speakeasy.

I do not have a studio of my own in which to teach, so interested students will need to have their own drum set and space to practice in. I will bring my own kit for the lessons, if needed, as well. I am happy to come to students' homes. I have a car, so I can easily travel around Seattle and the surrounding area.

As I will need to transport and set up my equipment, I would highly prefer hour-long lessons, but I will accept half-hour lessons. Please also keep in mind that I will need time to set up and tear down my equipment, so while I will only charge for actual lesson time, I will need an extra 10ish minutes at the sta
rt and end of each lesson for equipment gathering.

I'm excited to meet you so we can learn from each other!

About Stefanie
I am a Seattle-based singer and voice teacher currently accepting new students of all levels!

I am a classically trained soprano and have learned from a solid, healthy technique for many years. I would like to share this with you and help you to become a better, healthier and happier singer! This technique works for any singing style to assist you in keeping the voice fresh and healthy for many years. My lessons address breath support, proper alignment, personal expression and more. I have a sensitive, positive teaching style and I will work with you very patiently and supportively. I have found so much joy from free, healthy singing and it is my goal to help you experience this same joy in your musical journey.

I have been performing for over 20 years and have experience singing for many different opera companies and choirs, soloin
g at churches and restaurants, and currently sing in a local band.

Have you seen the recent article about Adele (and many other artists) continuously losing her voice and needing vocal surgery? This is due to bad technique! So many teachers and producers out there are teaching with poor technique and only care about sound, not the health of the voice. It is finally coming to light that this is not a sustainable way to treat the voice. I have been fortunate enough to have been trained with healthy vocal technique that is very free, natural and beautiful (not "produced") and I would love to share it with you!

For more information please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss your personal singing needs.

I look forward to working with you!

The voice is precious. Please be kind to it. It's the only one you've got!
