Hi! I've been playing guitar and with bands for over 15 years. I started on upright bass and played in an orchestra before moving onto jazz band, and then eventually taught myself guitar. The last band I was in toured and recorded all over the country before moving to Seattle. Songwriting is my greatest passion. If you have any interest in writing your own songs, I'd be more than happy to help. I'm comfortable with multiple genres and with electric or acoustic guitar. We can come up with a lesson plan together, or I can plan something myself based on your needs. Thank you!
I play guitar, upright & electric bass, and piano. I've played in multiple bands throughout my life. I moved to Seattle with my band from Ann Arbor in 2016. We played Indie Psych Rock and were influenced by bands like Talking Heads, The Strokes, and David Bowie. We had the privilege of recording a

I love music theory. I once read a comment on an online discussion board, in which someone basically said that music theory is to music what grammar is to English. I totally agree. It is one thing to know how to read and play music and it is another to have a more in depth understanding of the rules of written music. Music theory helps you to know why certain sounds sound the way they do and how to produce them.
If you're an aspiring composer, music theory is definitely for you! If you sing in a choir or play in an orchestra, music theory is for you too! It will enhance your ability to read musical scores with greater ease and greater speed.
If you're a dedicated, determined student who wants to enhance your ability to read and/or create music, I welcome you to book a lesson with me. :)
I have been playing the piano for 14 years. I love musical composition and have written ~40 + Christian songs. Since I love musical composition, naturally I also love music theory-something that has helped me to expand my "musical toolkit" of ideas. I am able to compose in several genres. Most o

Sing it with me! A kiss on the hand may be, quite continental, but MICROPHONES ARE A SINGER’S BEST FRIEND! That’s how that goes, right? I’m only halfway kidding. The wonderful thing about microphones is that they can make you sound phenomenal. Misuse them though, and you could have a bit of a mess on your hands, metaphorically speaking. So, what is the best way to use a microphone and how can you make it make you sound even better? Let’s start with the basics. As a singer, it’s …

Drummers, you've got it easy. Grab some sticks and something to hit, and your makeshift instrument is just as good as the real thing... right? Sure, maybe if it's just an impromptu jam session with friends. But for proper technique and to really improve on the drums, you'll need the right equipment - which includes your drumsticks. Choosing the right drumsticks can be as selective as buying a violin bow for violinists, and you may need to test out several different types before settling …
