I am a local writer, editor, and writing coach, and I have previously worked as an actor, theater educator, and horse trekking guide in South America. My life has been a mix of extreme outdoor travel and academic pursuits and I've had a lot of adventures along the way. I love teaching and working with students of all ages!
My strength is in working with students and writers at any stage in the writing process. Together we can productively brainstorm, make a writing plan, or polish a final draft. I can help you translate your creativity and vision into compelling, powerful words.
I especially love helping students through the college application process, from deciding which colleges to apply to, to drafting the Personal Essay and supplemental materials, to final proofreading.
I'm here to help with any project- let's get to work!
I prepare students for the Reading, Writing, and Essay sections of the SAT and ACT, and the AP Literature test, AP Language Test, and SAT II Literature test. I work with students at all levels, whether they are new to English or elite learners. I also coach students through the college application and essay writing process.+ Read More
I work with students of all ages to help them through the writing process. I have produced fundraiser performances for Portland's Intergenerational Outreach Choir, during which I worked with participating members (ages 5-95) to write and perform monologues on the theme of mothers and motherhood. I have worked with Portland Public School students to produce original plays and musicals, and have guided countless students through test prep and college application prep.+ Read More
