I assist English Learner's in improving their English speaking skills as well as reading and writing. In addition, I work with elementary students in improving their comprehension, phoneme awareness, and phonics.

Bilingual Paraeducator

This was a volunteer tutoring opportunity to assist a non-English speaking student from Yemin. We worked on improving his social skills and communication skills.

English Learner Tutor

I assisted the lowest Kindergarteners in practicing their writing, reading, and math skills every Thursday and Friday for an hour. Topics we covered were basic addition and subtraction, building correct sentences, and the alphabet letter names and sounds.

Afterschool Intervention Tutor

Students will learn what nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions are. Students will also learn sentence structure and sentence variety including independent and dependent clauses and run on sentences.

Hello! I am a Liberal Studies major at CSUS and am working towards a Bilingual Authorization. I have worked with elementary school students in reading and writing since 2016, as well as have assisted students who speak little to no English. I have worked with several college level refugee students learn English as well. I can teach English as a language or academic English concerning grammar and sentence structure. I can also speak, read, and write in Hmong. Although I work BEST with younger students (elmentary to high school), I am confident I can assist older students as well!
