Essay Writing with Sasha D.

I graduated cum laude from the University of Chicago in spring 2022. I majored in Comparative Human Development with a focus in developmental psychology and minored in English/Creative Writing. I have worked as an essay tutor and college essay coach for the past four years. Students brainstorm their topics and work with them to create the most appropriate outline for the message they are trying to convey. I review drafts to help students polish and refine their prose, clarify and streamline main ideas and keep their own voice present throughout. I have additional experience in academic writing, completing an honors thesis in developmental psychology, which was the sole recipient of the Bertram J. Cohler BA Thesis Prize within my major. For the past six months, I have been working with students who are pursuing research projects in the social sciences. We walk through the process of conducting a literature review, methodology, and building up a project with a manageable scope that still nourishes the students' academic curiosity.
