About Natalie G.

Oh, hello! I'm Natalie. I'm an author, illustrator, speaker, teacher, dog mom, and improviser.
I've been doing improv for about seven years now, and have been writing professionally for nearly a decade. I've had some cool improv experiences over the years - including that one weird time where I was in a weekly show with my troupe on the island of Bali - and today, have written seven books, including the bestselling Peter Able series.
Now, I want to share what I love about improv and creative writing with you! I have lead many workshops and classes for students anywhere from seven to seventy. In my classes, I'll also be using a lot of Authentic Relating* and circling to dive into any creative blocks you might have, and really feel into what's alive.
By the end of our time together, you'll feel more present, more embodied, connected to yourself, confident, and hopefully, will have had a whole lot of fun!
*Authentic Relating and circling are tools for deep connection, vulnerability, and honesty. I am a trained Authentic Relating facilitator and would love to create a safe and welcoming space to guide you into what's alive.

I so enjoyed the improv class I took with Natalie at the Texas Authentic Relating Retreat this past weekend! Natalie was playful and present and explained the games clearly. Even though it was a single class, she had us do scene work right off the bat, even with some of us being beginning improvisors. Her approach of using games and exercises to ease into it really took the edge off my fear of doing "big scary improv scenes." I had so much fun and laughed a LOT. I would definitely take another improv class with her again!! Thanks Natalie!!

I've done improv work in the past but it's been quite a while, and I've found the idea to be intimidating lately. Natalie, however, was a fabulous instructor - she was fun, engaging, and eased the class from warm ups into more complex exercises seamlessly. I learned a bunch of new games and some new twists on old favorites - this class inspired hands down the funniest moments of my entire weekend retreat :)
