Improve your Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills with a college professor

Do you want to improve your writing skills? Then you have to read A LOT of books. What can this do for you? Reading and writing skills are what grants you influence. From ancient times, when people only had command of the spoken language, to today, those who can tell stories had power and allies. English literature with me will have us reading a variety of texts and then writing about what those texts say. My style of teaching is hands on with activities helping you discover your own interpretation of what something says along the way. I want you to be confident in your reading and writing skills. Let's work together. I teach a variety of learners from beginners to experienced. Bring those hard to read texts from your classes, bring that book that everyone says you should read, bring your stories and papers. I will teach you the best ways to break down a text so you can understand what you are reading and write that paper well or pass that test.

    About Marie B.

Ever since I was in high school, I have always wanted to teach. My journey started with a BA in English at a small college in New York. I have been teaching a variety of students since then. I moved to Georgia to go to Georgia Southern University where I received my Master of Art in English Literature. My Master's Thesis "From Wanderer to Warrior: Martin's Journey to Sainthood in Brian Jacques's Redwall Series" can be read online. Check it out and ask questions. Recently, I have gone to the Children's Literature Association Conference where I learned a lot from other English professionals. What I want you to know is that I care about your learning. I want you to become a strong writer/reader. As a teacher of mine has said, "Writing is a social activity." And reading is too! Please reach out with questions. Let's work together!
