Professional Golfers College

I adjunct for a vocational school for students who are going into the Gold Industry. I teach Written Communication with an emphasis on Business Writing and Oral Communication with an emphasis on rhetoric and current events. I give my students three major assignments and I use scaffolded assignments. We get creative with the assignments. My ENG 201 class works on narratives (stories) and Websites and my ENG 202 class works through 1984 by George Orwell.

Georgia Southern University

I have taught ENGL 1101 and 1102 at GSU. The classes emphasized rhetoric, literature, and research. I loved teaching at GSU. It was a great experience getting to know my students and working with all different abilities. My students work on improving their reading and writing skills by reading and writing a lot. My classes worked on projects ranging from a Rhetorical Analysis to retelling a popular fairy tale. I used scaffolded assignments and tested their knowledge through papers and quizzes.

Tutor Doctor

I worked one-on-one with a middle school student helping him with is English Reading and Writing skills. Over the last few years, I have watched him improve. We worked on reading books and working on pronunciation, and I helped him understand the directions to assignments.

University of South Carolina Beaufort

I taught ENG 201/202 at USCB until the pandemic. The classes emphasized rhetoric and literature. Similar to my classes at Georgia Southern University, I taught a range of topics. My students here were honors students who worked hard. They did a Rhetorical Analysis and the retelling the fairy tale assignment as well.
