    About Laura K.

I've taught science (Biology and Chemistry) to students from middle school through high school, college and both graduate and medical students as well as MDs working on research fellowships. People have told me that I have an unusual ability to take complex concepts and describe them clearly and simply. I'm patient and take time to understand the difficulties my students are having and with which they are struggling. It's important that I be called early in the learning process rather than when the student has felt lost in class for many weeks or months. We need to be certain of basic understanding as a clear insight into science develops as pieces are added to the picture, step-by-step. Students must be willing to read and be certain that this understanding is there before proceeding to the next areas. Memorizing without real understanding just doesn't work! I'll be patient and explain what is confusing but you have to work patiently also!
