Calculus can actually be Fantastic to know.
Calculus can be difficult, but with someone to go through the theorems with you and help you work out all the problems, it is very doable. I helped a CLEP calculus student pass her test. This student had no background in linear equations, or trigonometry so we had to study lines together. I created visual exercises, so that she could understand everything in two dimensions. We covered limits, continuity, and then trigonometry (which took a lot of time and was difficult for her). Once we had a clear understanding of lines, and limits, we were able to cover the definitions and theory of differentiation. We did not cover the theory behind integration, but learned all the methods by rote. This very bright person was able to pass the exam. We were both thrilled. She is now a nursing student.
About Kate W.

If you are not satisfied with the assistance or advice you receive from me, please don't hesitate to let me know. I will try either to adjust my teaching method (according to feedback) or assist you in finding a better tutor. I have had many years tutoring undergraduate mathematics classes. From experience, I realize that the critical component in taking Linear Algebra, or any other math class, is time. If you are having trouble understanding the material, seek help immediately. If you have a tutor, and are not satisfied with the progress you are making, tell them immediately. In my spare time, I like to read books and work on my gardens.
