There are many ways to approach teaching, and I acknowledge all of them as a way for people to express knowledge to others. My approach stems from the idea that in order to be an effective teacher, you must adapt to the student. The student learns at varying paces, and to accept this is the first step in reaching out to them. Helping students look inward and realize not what to learn, but how to learn, is essential in their grown and development in all aspects of their lives. This is a main component to my teaching. Since my focus is in STEM , I take a more holistic approach in this philosophy by allowing myself to calibrate to the personality of the student, engaging them, empathizing with their struggles, and helping them see that the difficulties they have before them can be solved by looking at problems from a bigger picture; using real world examples that stimulate the mind and evoke feelings that they can relate to.
