    About Jamaal T.

Hello! My name is Dr. Jamaal Thomas and I’m excited to work with your child, teaching them reading and writing. I have been an educator for 10 years, 6 years in special education and 3 years in general education, and a year as an Instructional Lead Teacher. I have a passion for teaching reading and writing; as well as researching innovative ways to motivate students to build their skills in literacy. My biggest belief in education is to develop the entire student. While academics are important for a student, the ability to thrive as a student is reliant on their foundation; which is their ability to think through a situation and find a solution. When teaching my students literacy, I will be focusing on this area of thinking; which is called their executive function. Combining the literacy and executive function instruction of my lessons will allow the student to have sustained success for their learning. In my spare time, I upload learning videos to my YouTube channel, Wisdom Wins!
