I encourage students to meet with me individually, since everyone's learning patterns and styles are different. In regards to English, I have different lesson plans for different grade levels. First starting off with a small diagnosis to see where the student's level is, I would work on phonetics, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing.

About Hannah L.

I am currently principal flute of the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra. Learning to play the piano since first grade and flute when I was in fourth grade, I have always been actively involved in music since I was little. Currently studying under Ms. Amy Tu, I have participated in and won many competitions, such as NJSYO’s Henry Lewis Concerto Competition, the NJMTNA Senior Woodwind Competition, and the International Crescendo Competition. I was also able to participate in a multitude of ensembles along with the NJSYO, including the CJMEA Regional and All State Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Symphonic Band. During my summer breaks, I auditioned and was accepted into several music programs, including the Juilliard Summer Winds Program and the M-Pulse Flute Institute. Since I began exploring my passion for flute performance, I had the opportunity to work with many renowned flutists like Sir James Galway, Jeanne Baxtresser, Amy Porter, Bonita Boyd, and Bart Feller. I am also an active member of her school’s Tri-M Music Honors Society.

Hannah is such a kind-hearted and talented flutist. I was her peer in school, and she helped me so much. I was struggling in wind ensemble and I doubted myself a lot. However, Hannah re-taught me a lot of basics and boosted my confidence. I'm so grateful for her for helping me improve so much!

Hannah is an amazing flute instructor. She really pays attention to me as an individual student, and makes sure we go at a comfortable pace. I was able to start flute because I was interested in it, and Hannah has helped me increase my interest even more.
