Georgia has been teaching music in the NYC public schools since 2012 and privately since 2009. She specializes in orchestral strings and piano, but has also taught private voice, flute, and guitar lessons.
Georgia has an arsenal of strategies for students with special needs, very young students, those who have trouble focusing, and anyone of any age who has ever said "I can't."
She uses several different methodologies, including Suzuki, Kodaly, and Music as a Second Language. In addition to adapting different genres of music to fit students' interests and ability levels, she teaches practice strategies and focus habits to make sure that students practice regularly and effectively, avoid frustration, and increase their joy in making music!
She received her BMus at NYU and is currently studying for an MA in music curriculum design at Teachers College Columbia. She is patient, creative, and a little bit silly, and looks forward to meeting you!
