Hola! 

I am a Cuban American with a love of the Spanish language. Not only did I grow up using Spanish with family, I have studied it for 11 years. It all started in my 7th grade class with Sra. Claudia and continued through College. I was a Spanish Minor at the University of Minnesota, I completed a semester in Costa Rica, and I substitute teach at Windom Spanish Immersion Elementary. I am strong in identifying children's strengths and needs and use that to tailor to the student's learning. I enjoy being playful and productive. Nos vemos pronto!

My name is Elia. I am a Minnesota native Cuban-American who loves Spanish and teaching. I studied Spanish in middle school, high school, and at the University of Minnesota. My favorite semester was the one I spent in Costa Rica! Pura vida :) I am currently a substitute teacher at Windom Dual Spanish Immersion Elementary. 

My teaching style is that of fun and productivity. I love to use my strengths in identifying children needs and tailoring the class to make goals a reality. I look forward to working with you! Nos vemos pronto!

Elia is a wonderful teacher and an exceptional role model for young people.  We have known Elia for several years as she has helped our family - teaching spanish, nannying.  She is smart and kind - and she has a caring way about her.

We hired Elia to teach our three kids Spanish. We were very pleased with the results.  Elia made the lessons fun and the kids enjoyed learning.  I would say they are not fluent but they sure can communicate in Spanish!
