Hi! I'm Dr. Gary & my teaching career spans many years & academic levels to include working one-on-one with individuals who require the same for ANY reason.
I have worked with folks who supervise, teach or are in the general workforce as well as busy medical personnel who need to 'be understood' when issuing life saving orders.
I believe accents are GREAT and some are very pleasing to the ear, however, when they get in the way and call attention to the speaker, well ... it's time to fine-tune the vocal cords. You will simply learn how to reduce your rate of ongoing production (SLOW DOWN)! IDENTIFY your native phonemes that are non standard English to modify the same and some inflection to make expressive language 'flow' and encourage others to pay attention.
My greatest compliment is not that folks pass through my course ... it's actually when 'listeners' of the people I've trained compliment their (new) ongoing production of the spoken language. You may spend up to 8 weeks [many less] learning each level until mastery, however, that depends greatly on what you do on your own time in-between lessons. Homework isn't tedious, but it's like sticking to a diet ... nobody can do it for you!
You will experience an INITIAL EVALUATION that is taped & using every phoneme, (vowels & consonants whatever else we find) as well as MID COURSE EVALS and one at graduation. The course includes LISTENING SKILLS, RATE REDUCTION where necessary, and a pleasant vocal production. Let's TALK!
