    Art history can be fun

I take a personal approach to art history just as my professors at Rhode Island School of Design did. I start from a visual perspective, looking at paintings. I delve into the lives of the artists who painted the masterpieces we'll look at together. Whether the love Matisse had for color, shape and movement, Monet's ability to capture the impression of light or how Manet flattened blacks on canvas leading the way to abstraction, we'll look at art work, its context and each artist's contribution.
