Greetings, I am Brianá. My BAAS comprises of challenging math courses and professors, which motivated me to help make math relatable to those who may have a disdain for math. As a Senior collegiate tutor at CC, I was trained in 2017. I have tutored Arithmetic, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trig/Pre-Calculus, Applied/Business Calc, and Elem Statistics. I worked 1-on-1 with students, provided additional learning support, and supported collaborative and inclusive tutoring services, which prepped students for midterms and finals. As a SI, I worked with math professors and 50+ students within the classroom, and I held weekly specialized math workshops with 20+ students focusing on specific math topics. As a HS math tutor and mentor via Upward Bound, I supported and prepared 9th-12th grade students for AP and higher math, ACT/SAT standardized testing, and postsecondary education. At university via Pathways Pre-College Institute and America Counts programs, I tutored and prepped for education certification through service learning at local K-12 grade schools. My calming tutoring approach meets the student in their learning path, guides the student through the fundamentals, and allows the student to understand math tailored to their relatable point of view, which minimizes “Math Anxiety”. I am here to benefit and increase your confidence in math. I encourage you to take on the challenge of “that one math class".
