My name is Ashleigh and I am a professional writer. I write novels mostly, but I also write screenplays, stageplays, musicals, and the occasional short story or two. I am currently a junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at the University of North Georgia. As a creative writing tutor, I hope to help you open your mind to see the world not only by your definite surroundings and what already is, but also by the infinite possibilities of what could have been and what still can be. For sessions, I can do something as simple as read a piece of fiction you've written and give you honest feedback, or I can meet with you multiple times, giving writing exercises, assignments, and feedback so that you can see your improvement from week one until the end of our time together.+ Read More
I work with the Atlanta Film Festival as their Screenplay Programming Intern. I read dozens of scripts per week and write up important feedback, as well as give my personal "pass or fail" on the script for the programmers to consider.
In this role, I read dozens of screenplays for a local Atlanta producer and gave feedback on them, both for the producer and the writer. For the producer, my feedback and notes included whether or not I would recommend producing the project. For the writer, notes revolved around what worked and what didn't; what read really well versus what needed some work.+ Read More
I worked as an assistant to producers on the independent feature film, "Summer Night." In this role, among numerous other jobs, I often helped in reviewing script rewrites.
The film was recently acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
I created, wrote, and produced a fan web series based on Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy" novel series. We had a first season of three full episodes and twelve mini-episodes, all of which were written by myself and, occasionally, members of the cast. The show went on into a season two, which I also co-wrote. The first episode has gained more than 120,000 views on YouTube, and we gained our own fan following (who occasionally bring around petitions for us to adapt the series officially!).+ Read More
I worked as an assistant in the writer's room for "Dead Winter," a webseries that was developed through Women in Film and Television Atlanta. During this time, I read scripts for my mentors and gave feedback and notes for suggestions, many of which were used for the final product.+ Read More
This was my first lesson with Ashleigh and I already know she's going to take my writing to the next level. I feel so comfortable talking with her about my writing, and she's so knowledgeable! I feel like I'm getting amazing instruction and can't wait for my next lesson!+ Read More
