Being an avid learner of all subjects, I thoroughly love teaching the knowledge that I have gained. Having been a tutor for eleven years, I have been able to tutor a variety of clients in a multitude of subjects. I specialize in tutoring math, history, English, science, and Spanish in grades K through 12 as well as college level English, college algebra, specialized psychology courses, and anthropology. I have extensive experience tutoring for the SAT, SAT Math and English Subject Tests, and the ACT. Having won over twenty scholarships, I also have the ability to help structure personal statements for scholarships and college applications. In addition to tutoring in academic subjects, I also teach acting and improvisation lessons.
When tutoring my clients, I use a scaffolding technique based in Social Learning Theory in which I work on designated problems or lessons with my clients and slowly allow them to progress as independent learners.

Ariel is a caring, articulate, patient, creative tutor who approaches her students with intuitive and experienced guidance. Not only does she excel at a wide variety of subjects, but she also brings the added benefit of her training in psychology. Afterall, even the brightest of us all stumbles into blocks and it takes a keen therapeutic approach to help us get over the hump so we can wrap our heads around the material.
Although I've no direct experience with Ariel as a tutor, I've heard about the terrific results her students continue to reap.
I highly recommend her as a tutor for your child or yourself, no matter the age.

I hired Ariel to help me write for essays for the SAT because I always had a mental block. After working with her I could pretty much spit out an essay on almost any topic. She is very patient and her step by step process really helped find my own writing method.
