Freelance Classical Singer
Jan, 2010 - PresentAngela DInkelman, Soprano
Soprano, Angela Dinkelman has been noted for her “shimmering soprano” by such publications as Opera News. She has performed with several of New York's finest opera companies such as Bronx Opera, where she covered Alexandra in Marc Blitzstein's Regina, and the young, but noteworthy Utopia Opera where she most recently performed the role of Margie in the NYC premiere of Laura Kaminsky’s Some Light Emerges. Previous roles with Utopia Opera include the title role in The Ballad of Baby Doe, La Fee in Cendrillon, Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos and The Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas. Along with her great love of opera, Angela also enjoys programming and performing recitals that speak to audiences of all levels of Classical music knowledge. She most notably performed at NYC's Cafe Vivaldi, retelling the story of Breakfast at Tiffany's using only Schubert Lieder. She recently completed a tour of Echoes of the Fifth Gospel: A Bach Cantata and Hymn-Sing, a program designed to present Bach’s extraordinary soprano arias and keyboard solos along-side well-known and beloved hymns in a recital/sing-along style. Additionally, using three Grimm’s Fairy-Tales, she created an Art Song recital that combines music and story telling in a way that introduces families of all ages to the world of Art Song. Angela has also had the great pleasure of singing her Carnegie Hall Debut as both 2nd Spirit and 2nd Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte as well as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Manhattan Opera Studio. She performed Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, and Madame Silberklang in Der Schauspiel Direktor with New York Lyric Opera and has premiered several roles and works including the Voodoo Queen in A Night of Pity by Robert Cuckson and Insomnia by Tom Cipullo at SongFest. She was a finalist in the Fritz and Lavinia Jensen foundation and a recipient of SongFest's Stern's Fellowship.
