I believe that to learn a language it's important to feel safe and relaxed. If we build a positive relationship together, we'll be on our way to achieving your goals. I promise to work as hard as you do! I started teaching English while I was living in London for my Master's degree in Medieval History. I met people from all over the world and fell in love with the cultural exchange that comes with teaching a language. I have a certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from DePaul University. I am also a volunteer English instructor at St. Joseph Services in Humboldt Park. I live in Ukrainian Village with my husband and two cats, Tommy and Luna. If you chose to come to my apartment for lessons, you'll be able to meet them! My goal is to create a safe, judgement free environment for my students to learn in. I've worked hard to learn other languages myself (Spanish, German, and I'm working on Polish!), so I know how frustrating it can sometimes be to express yourself in another language. Teaching one on one is a collaborative effort and I will work hard to find a teaching style that is tailored to you.
