Hi there!

My name is Alex! I'm an easygoing teacher who has fun + experience assisting all ages. I love seeing the confidence and understanding grow in my students' eyes and am patient and accepting of all types of learning- after all, no one person is the same! Tricky schoolwork can feel vulnerable and/or frustrating, so I make sure each student is heard right off the bat. At the beginning of a lesson, I typically like to have a brief informal chat to help ease worries and make students feel comfortable, less stressed, and ready, with a game-plan in mind.

Professionally, my speciality is Development, which is another word for Nonprofit Fundraising. It involves MANY tasks involving writing, the most important being the grantmaking process. This means I use my writing skills to persuade new businesses or orgs to give the nonprofit I'm working for lots of money, then I report back about exactly where/how each dollar was spent. I will also write their newsletters, blogs, social media content, mailings, research briefs, and much more ;)

I attribute my writing skills in part to:
