    About Aaron G.

Hello! I am a Ph.D. Candidate and wildlife ecologist. I study how populations of mammals and birds respond to their environment, especially as the world urbanizes. My work has taken me everywhere from the coral reefs of Turks and Caicos to Yellowstone National Park in Montana! I am currently finishing my Ph.D., and I've found some interesting results on how backyard birds and mammals respond to human pressures in Phoenix Arizona and Western Massachusetts. My education includes a wide range of subjects in biology, with an emphasis on ecology and evolution. One "rite of passage" for a Ph.D. Candidate is the qualifying exam. I had to sit in front of 4 professors for over 4 hours while they were able to ask me any question they wanted to about general biology, ecology, evolution, and statistics. Eek, talk about high pressure! Studying for that and my other tests throughout my education, I've learned the best ways to destress and have fun with learning. Biology has some amazing content, and learning how things work takes creativity and imagination. I'm excited to help others, especially those who are struggling, make the most out of their time learning the subject. I'm lucky to have found a career in which I get to do what I love every day. Whether you want to go into a STEM field or not, we'll work together to help you achieve success in your biology education.
