***CURRENT TIME SLOT AVAILABILITY FOR LESSONS IN HANOVER: 1:30, 2:00, 4:30 ONLY

If you need another time slot, please send me a message first and I can let you know if I expect any openings in the near future.***

Join me for piano lessons at my studio space in Hanover on Fridays!

Or join me for online lessons!

What you will need:

An instrument to practice on - either an acoustic piano or a keyboard with weighted keys at home. **Please do not schedule lessons unless you have an instrument.**

Sheet music - students can purchase it through me or from a store or online. We can
talk about what kinds of music you like to play or want to learn to play once you sign up for lessons.

FAQs:

How often are lessons?
Once a week for half an hour is ideal, especially for beginners. Please book lessons on a "recurring schedule," not "pay as you go," which, the way the system is set up, will not reserve your time slot.

How often will I have to practice?
For 6 and 7 year olds, generally 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. For everyone else, at least a half an hour a day will give you the most progress!

What do you specialize in?
My strongest abilities are in classical music, because that is what I have the most experience in, but I can also teach the fundamentals of playing pop and rock music, and good performance, accompaniment, and practice habits.

What happens if I can't come to my scheduled lesson?
Email me, text me, call me and we can see if another time will work. Keep in mind that I only teach at this location on Fridays and your time slot is reserved for just for you. It may be difficult to find another opening, so plan on attending! Missed lessons will still be charged regardless of whether you can make it or not, so it's best to be there!
The cost of lessons not only reserves your spot, but allows me to maintain an effective studio, which includes planning lessons for each individual student, finding and planning music, maintenance of my piano, costs for recitals, and costs of association memberships. Regular attendance is in everyone's best interest :)

What happens if I need to discontinue lessons but already paid for the lessons?
Contact TakeLessons and they will handle that for you.

My daughter takes violin lessons with Nikita. He is doing a great job introducing her to proper techniques and helping her learn how to read music. I am impressed by his patience and schedule flexibility. It was a good decision selecting Nikita as our violin teacher to prepare my daughter for school orchestra in the next year. We would highly recommend Nikita to our friends and colleagues wishing to learn violin.

First lesson was an excellent experience. I did not have a violin and prior to my first lesson, Nikita took me to several places to select a violin and a bow. This was invaluable to me. I love my violin and Nikita helped me get a very good price, more than 35% less than the listed price and about 40% less than what I had budgeted. He tried the violins at the places we went and people would stop what they were doing and watch and listen to his playing. It was so beautiful. I plan to have Nikita as my teacher for years to come.

A+. He is very professional and takes his time to make sure you understand the lesson. He pays very close attention to the details to make sure you do not learn or continue to use bad habits. His teaching method is very impressive. He makes sure that you know why you are doing something and not just memorizing chords. He puts theory into the lesson so you understand why you are doing something rather than just memorizing chords. I'm on my 6th lesson and I only know 6 chords that I learned on my own. But my wife is an accomplished pianist, my kids plays piano, trombone and saxophone and my.wife and kids teachers says he is teaching the correct way. Anyone can remember a chord and strum strings but once you understand how the guitar works and what it means to move from string to string on different frets than you are way ahead if the game. I highly recommend Nikita.

About Donna
After studying violin and piano in Boston, at New England Conservatory with Eric Rosenblith as well as Robert Soetens in France, I have been fortunate to enjoy nearly twenty years of teaching violin and piano students. I have earned a BS and MS degrees.

I believe all my students should enjoy music and lessons so students learn enjoyable music from the first few lessons.

For the younger students I use Music Mind Games training to enhance the lesson experience.

My professional violin experience includes performances with many orchestras including a ten-year member of the Chattanooga Sy
mphony, Chattanooga Opera Orchestra, and the New Art Trio, Charleston Symphony, Savannah Symphony and chamber orchestras and ensembles in the Savannah, Chattanooga and Richmond areas. My experience also includes performances with Richmond Symphony in Richmond, VA, Virginia Symphony in Norfolk, VA, Dover Delaware Symphony as well as performance venues in the Pennsylvania area.
