Did you ever want to learn art from a professional? what about someone who's worked at pixar? an animation studio? freelanced? i did it all.

As an illustrator it's my job to figure out multiple concepts for one idea. As a teacher, i like to believe that there's more than one day of doing something. With my one on one lesson plan and schedule, i cater everything to my student's specific needs. Most teachers do things strictly out of the book but then you don't share your wisdom, personal experience or technique that's involved. i stepped out of the illustration industry to continue a life of teaching. i want share my knowledge with the future generation of artists and help them grow to understand why they love to do art.

I am a classically trainer realist oil painter with an MFA and years of experience. I have taught at several ateliers in NYC and internationally through the State Department’s Art In The Embassies programs. I break down the painting techniques of the Old Masters into easy to follow steps and cater the lessons to what the individual student is interested in pursuing. Also— I’m fun! Come paint with me!

I specialize in digital painting, with my strength in human portraiture and cute animals. I also create background paintings in the context of video games.

My medium of choice is primarily digital (Photoshop, but mostly GIMP).

I've graduated with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University, and worked for Disney Research for a year and a half. I now work as a freelance artist, implementing my skills as a digital painter very often.

My goal is to help students improve markedly and achieve their goals in painting. I can also help students build (college) portfolios.

Painting is my bread and butter as an artist! My method of teaching is grounded in traditional techniques in oil painting and understanding how to translate observation onto your canvas. This will lay a solid foundation for building your own personal style. Visual art is a skill like anything else and can be taught in the same ways. it isn't as scary as it seems, I promise!

In oil painting lessons you will learn the skill of mixing and applying oil paints, or more advanced topics like portrait and figure painting.

Online art lessons are a great way to learn easily from where ever you are! You can also get feedback/advice on your art work by selecting a 30 minute critique. You will receive notes and step by step instructions during your art class. . If you would like some home work to help you improve quickly I can also send an email after class with instruction.

I have taught over 500 students how to paint and have the education and experience to help you. Each painting lesson is tailored to your interest and where you want to develop skill. My schooling background is in classical painting methods, modern painting techniques, color theory and composition. I have been trained by masterful painters from all over the world and look forward to sharing all that I have learned with you.
