Hand drumming is so much more than just beating a drum. There is an essence about it that speaks through your soul. Lessons with me will be unique because we will talk about not only how to play and the fundamental tools needed to begin, but we will learn how to listen to those around us in order to have an all encompassing experience. It will be light, fun, informative, and we will go at whatever pace feels good for you, the student! I've been around drumming and drum circles for over ten years now and have come to have a very individual, impactful style for those around me. I look forward to sharing what I know!

About Jessica

Drumming is one of my life’s deepest passions. I was introduced to the art at The Great Blue Heron Music Festival drum circle. I was captivated by the scene: dozens of people creating impromptu rhythms together, on the spot, giving others sounds to dance to around the massive bonfire, all feeling t

John is fantastic teacher and very knowledgeable about music. He has a great rapport with his students. My daughter is very enthusiastic about her drum lessons with John every week and always looks forward to it. I would highly recommend John to anyone interested in music lessons.

Not only is John an off-the-charts professional drummer, he's a fantastic human being as well! He loves music and it comes through in the lessons! In 35 years of playing and hanging around wannabees, John is the genuine musician! Anyone really wanting to learn correctly needs John. I recommend him 100%.

"Gregory is an excellent teacher! Even when I was ready to give it up, because my playing sounded terrible, Greg encouraged me to keep going and told me it sounded fine. The more I played, the better it did sound. Now I can actually play! He also has lots of tips and tricks to help you along. Best instructor ever!"

"I absolutely love Cyndi!! She is an unparalleled expert. I notice my voice really improving each week because of the exercises she gives me to practice. She knows exactly what exercises to give your voice at the correct moment--sometimes she even tailors an exercise or creates an exercise just to fit your voice! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, but she also is extremely encouraging and gives me confidence. :)

It's also important to have an organized instructor--my last singing instructor never remembered where I was at or what we had done in the previous week's lesson. Cyndi takes advantage of all the time in the lesson and has a notebook organized by her student's names to record what we've worked on and the exercises she will give me for the next lesson! I'm really blown away by all the care Cyndi puts into each lesson. She also responds very quickly to texts and emails--when I registered for my first lesson I was a little nervous. But just a few minutes after I registered, I got a phone call from Cyndi asking questions about my experience and knowledge and connecting with me.

I can't say enough good things about Cyndi--every lesson has been great and I highly recommend you take lessons with her!! :)"

"Infectious Enthusiasm

What makes Ryan a terrific instructor is more than just his extensive guitar knowledge. It's more than the personalized curriculum and patient approach he offers to each student. It's even more than his great sense of humor and the encouragement he brings to each lesson. What makes Ryan a truly great instructor becomes apparent within moments of meeting him: this dude LOVES the guitar. Simple as it sounds, the sheer enthusiasm he has for the instrument is infectious and carries over into his lessons in such a way that you can't help but take it home with you. Learning a new instrument can be a daunting and difficult journey, but you will not find an instructor more willing to guide you through it than Ryan."

"I already LOVE Ronny as my guitar instructor and from playing with him I knew how talented he was with harmonica. So I decided to start lessons with him for just that. I also have my best friend taking harmonica lessons with him! His positive support and analogies connect the dots when it comes to learning a new instrument. I highly recommend Ronny as a teacher! Humble, talented and genuine."

"Ahmad is very professional in his approach, he helps you evaluate the course and also tell him more about your goals. I had no knowledge of music at all and He did a god job in giving me some basic music theory crash course along with my daily practice sessions. He tailors the course as per your routine. its never one lesson fit all for him, he will gauge your level of expertise, your short and long term guitar goals(beginner, advanced etc) and then create a custom lesson for you. I really enjoyed and made good progress in a month's time. Thanks Ahmad!"

What’s the Difference Between Professional and Student Violins?

Getting the right instrument is one of the most important decisions in a musician's life. The right violin will feel comfortable in your hands, respond accurately and consistently to your touch, and help you produce the best possible sound for your level of musical development. Students learning the violin can rent or purchase instruments from music instrument retailers, and they offer a variety of instruments that can seem daunting for the novice violin purchaser. When will you know that it' …
