With 12+ years of experience, I have a long history of practicing visual art. Drawing and painting are some of my favorite practices, and I love helping others take what they see and express that through their own hands. Together we'll explore what it means to perceive and express through creative visual means!

About Emilie
Hello! I'm Mesmi, owner of my own studio, a boutique multimedia house that provides music/audio services, visual work and individual artist consultation. Specialties include all types of writing (songwriting, branding, etc.), vocal production and independent music strategy.

As a professional musician, artist and voice over actress, I have won awards, performed my original music at venues & festivals and booked national TV commercials. I have 12+ years background in classical piano, 6+ years as a gigging musician in Los Angeles and 4+ years in recording & production. I also have years of practice in a number of visual mediums, from oil painting to Adobe Photoshop to the newest mobile apps.

With ample experience in both the creative and business sides of being an artist, one of my great joys is equipping others using all that I have
learned, and I believe in taking a specialized individual approach for each person and project.

Whether you need help with crafting your work, navigating social media or learning an instrument, I'm here to help you figure out the best of what will benefit you.

I love all the ways there are to communicate -- through language, sound and visuals -- and am so blessed to share the gift of these arts with others!

Painting is a great creative outlet for people to spend time relaxing and make something beautiful that brings you pride and joy. Anyone can paint! All it takes is time and a willingness to make mistakes and learn from them. I’ve been painting for 8 years and teaching for 1. I welcome all students who are interested in picking up painting as new hobby or returning after a long time away. We’ll build out your painting techniques and color theory so you can paint from real life or something abstract.

About David
I have a bachelors degree in printmaking and oil painting and spent some time in Florence, Italy studying painting and drawing by studying the High Renaissance masters. Currently I draw and paint in my spare time. I love teaching art as a way to connect with other artist and creative people who like talking about and creating art.

Through introducing or reviewing the fundamental principles in art and applying those to the lessons and exercises I assign for after class hours, you’ll see yourself improve week after week and gain more confidence in your artistic ability. I create a custom syllabus for you to review and work in things you’d like to try, certain mediums or subject matter to make it more appealing to you.

Making art should be fun and restorative! I’m very flexible in meeting your needs and speed at which you want to lea

I have been a professional oil painter for 36 years and have taught oil and acrylic painting classes fro over a decade. I teach a casual, fun but serious style class. My goal is to teach the basics of creating a simple strong painting in a semi realistic style. However, my goal is to allow the student to develop their own individual style. Understanding the creative process is also key to making good art.

About Daniel
My name is Dan. The only thing that I love more than painting is teaching students how to paint. I call my teaching method, "serious play". In other words, I want the students to learn something of value during each class, but also to enjoy the creative process that is key to making a successful painting.

Dan is a fantastic teacher. His demos are easy to follow and he answers your questions completely. This has been one of the best classes I have ever taken.

Being new to oil painting it would have been helpful to get more detail instruction on the medium. Brush techniques and even color mixing and blending instruction would have been helpful. Dan seems like a nice guy but maybe suited for an intermediate student instead of a beginner.

Educated in Europe, I was always inspired by my teachers and travels to continue honing my artistic skills. With practice, anybody can develop their own style, and I believe it's my duty to pass on the knowledge that was instilled in me as a young artist.

Expression of one's soul in art may be sometimes stronger than words, something that psychologists have proven for years.

"Sip and paint" classes are available for groups.

About Isabela
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is.

I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested student who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).

I love interacting with people and
pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.

I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.

I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.

I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.

Isabela is very resourceful, she provided lot of guidelines and resources in the lesson. She provided practice material to me before my first lesson and covered the fundamentals in the first lesson which in my opinion is extremely important in the beginning to learn a new subject. Isabela is a so talented and a great instructor to have!

Painting is about so much more than applying pigment and oil or water. I can teach how to see, how to understand color theory/relationships in the context of paint, and eventually, how to develop, understand, indulge, and challenge your own tendencies as a visual maker.

Since I have actually set up a separate subject for painting with oils, these prices will be applicable to painting with acrylics/other. Not that I would be excluding pertinent information in one of these classes versus an oil painting class (priced slightly higher), but because teaching painting generally starts with a water-based medium. It tends to be less messy, both literally and figuratively :) Basically, in these classes, I would teach about basic tenets of learning to paint. In terms of technical specifics we won't actually work with oils, but I am glad to talk about them and how they contrast water-based paints. I suppose that is my hesitation for labeling this as acrylic-specific. I am cool talking shop ...

About Mary
I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. My main areas of concentration are drawing and painting, but I am also trained in printmaking, photography, sculpture, etc. Being an artist means being a lot of things. You are not someone with just a hobby; you are an engineer, mathematician, planner, risk taker, designer, scientist. The list goes on. I dedicate my life to problem-solving. This is what art is. I would love to share my knowledge and be able to continue to support my creative life by supporting the drive for success in others.

I have really no age limit in terms of students. If you are a parent looking for a teacher for a child/ren, that's great, we could have some fun constructing and working on anything from still lifes of their favorite toys to acrylic paintings that touch on color relationships. If you you
rself are looking to strengthen your drawing from nature or learn how to build a realistic self-portrait, that's great too. I'm willing and happy to do anything from spending time sculpting with a senior citizen to discussing and working on conceptual painting with a student in need of more outside fuel and support for their creative fire. I believe that teaching to think like an artist is just as important as teaching technical ability. I've become adept at both of these skills in my four years at the University of Dayton, and I am so excited to share with and learn from you in return!

About Angikar
Angikar Sarkar (aged 31 years) is professionally a software engineer and an arts and music aficionado. He is originally from India and completed till 3rd year in fine Arts from Indian Academy of Fine Arts. In 2009, he came to the States to peruse graduate studies from Texas and since 2013, he is staying in north Phoenix, Arizona for professional connections. His wife, Samayita, is the biggest motivation behind his arts. Whenever he gets spare hours, Angikar involves himself in fine arts, poetry and music. Acrylic and water color are his specializations, but he also finds immense pleasure in charcoal art, sketching, pastel touches and tempera. He believes that music and rhythm exist everywhere in this universe, may be in different forms and shapes. As an artist, he wants to explore that symphony and correlate that rhythm with lives, myths,
mythologies, objects and nature. Symphony brings happiness and happiness breeds excellent art works which is where his arts are coming from.

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit”. Ralph Emerson once said.
It is true, indeed!
It is actually impossible to portray the actual beauty of the nature in a mere canvas with a few colors and brushes in hand. The vastness is more than that. This is therefore a very miniscule effort to depict the beauty of the nature.

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness...” and Wilderness Chapter I and Wilderness Chapter II try to tell the same thing.

“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from its loveliness arises”- Fifty Shades of Green exactly speaks about the same thing. Even everything is green, still there is no monotony and each and every hue is visible.

“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature” and rose is the queen among them. It is more beautiful while its scent is mixed with nocturnal enigma and Night Rose tries to portray the same.

“Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all”. The peace lies in Autumn and Serenity Chapter I canvas over the same thought.

I am a completely self-taught artist of all mediums with a love for surrealism, realism, decoupage, watercolor, and acrylic pours. All of my tricks, tips, methods, processes, etc are my own personal trademarks. I have 20+ years experience in fine arts, music, writing, reading, acting, photography, and strategy/research.
I like to save other artists the most time and money possible, as well. As a single mom and grad school student, I understand what it’s like to not have access to a ton of money- which is why I’m keeping my lessons fairly low-average in cost.
I’m easygoing, patient, optimistic, humble, modest yet confident, eager to help anyone and everyone achieve their goals, and I’m known for my sense of humor and my unique teaching methods. I have taught all ages, toddlers to seniors. Art is my sanctuary and I hope that I can help students create their own sanctuary in the art world, too.

I have been teaching professionally for more than 10 years. I can teach a total beginner and I can guarantee the profound change in his skill level (regardless of his age), after 2 months of the attentive following of my instructions. I like to watch the progress of my student and this is what brings me the best satisfaction in my occupation.
I think that every human being is unique with his own unique way of thinking and perception of the common things. When teaching, I believe in dialogue, for this reason, I never record my lessons on video, except for the promotional needs. I like to meet new students, to understand their way of thinking and to invent the individual teaching approach or methodology for each one of them.

About DANIL
I am an academically trained professional artist with the professional experience of about 20 years and an impressive record of exhibitions (two of them are museum one-man shows) in the USA and abroad.
I am teaching in three languages: ENGLISH, HEBREW and RUSSIAN, representational, realistic, impressionist/post-impressionist, expressionist and abstract painting and drawing with the emphasis on European tradition.
I am working and teaching in different mediums, like charcoal, graphite, acrylic, oil, watercolour and soft/oil pastels.
I have a Russian classic art education, MFA from Pratt Institute (Painting /Drawing) and about 15 years of overall teaching experience.
Currently, I am working as a commissioned portrait artist and also performing on stage with some well-known musicians as a multimedia artist and real-time digital paint
er.
As an art educator, I specialize in students of different ages and skill levels. I have developed a methodology for teaching the beginners of pre-pension or relatively late age. I believe in dialogue in education and for this reason, I never record my lessons, except for promotional purposes. I teach online, in my studio or at a student’s home.
