Super nice guy, patient. I would've given it a 5 but we spent most of our time trying to figure out my hardware. Totally not his fault, I'm hoping he does some research about the hardware before or next lesson. I would recommend Tony for sure.
Liam C.
Great start for our 7 yo grandson. Tony immediately appealed to his musical interests, and prepared him to learn his first song next lesson.

How do you make awesome music in Ableton?

Start with the music that excites you. Listen, analyze and notice all the sounds you're hearing.

Then, you make a soundalike. In the process, we analyze everything you hear, and learn all the tricks of recording, sound design, producing and mixing.

Then, you try making your own music, using the sounds you know and new sounds you discover on the fly.

One project at a time, you figure out how music works, master the software, and become capable of making just about any sound you want to hear.

I've been making music with Ableton for a while- I made my first record as a songwriter almost entirely in Ableton 9. I learned everything by trial and error and a lot of YouTube watching, so I can help you avoid the initial stumbles I made and set you up for success with the most powerful software on the market for music creation.

I won't be lecturing you- we'll be working together, collaborating on music you can be proud of. Shoot me a message ...

About Ethan

My musical life started at the piano when I was four. I've spent the last five years helping students understand the sounds that speak to them and bring them into their own music-making. I spent my early years playing piano, then picked up the saxophone, which took me to Berklee College of Music,

Ethan is truly an amazing saxophone teacher! I started learning the saxophone on my own but had been plateauing for months. Thanks to Ethan, I learned very useful tips - ranging from music theory to practical advises - and I can now feel myself progressing again. What’s impressed me the most with Ethan are his passion for the music, his dedication to transmitting his love for the saxophone and his desire to find the find the best teaching approach for each of his students.
Matthew
The way I view music and life in general has shifted in the best way possible. Stoked to have been apart of Ethan's lessons and recommend anyone interested in music to do the same. The things I never even begun to understand about music are now commonplace and serve to better my understanding of music as a whole.

Ethan has always shone as the most impressive of all my mentors in my eyes. Even since I started working with him four years ago, he has always put in the most effort for each of his students, and still continues to outdo himself. A great quality of his that proves more difficult to find out there is his raw passion and skill for leaving no bit of knowledge behind in sharing with his students. Whether it’s advanced music theory skills or pro-level composition techniques, he never fails to demonstrate his talent for spreading knowledge and helping his students learn. Ethan is an astounding instructor, mentor, and friend, and I hope other students can experience the same learning opportunities that I have.

If Ableton seems a little confusing at first, don't worry! It's really one of the best DAWs to work with out there, and I'm happy to help you get started.

We can talk about all the basic components, audio and midi effects, sampling, workflow in both session and arrangement view, and programming live shows as well as creative and exciting methods to improve your beats/productions/podcasts etc.

Ableton can do it all.

About Adam

I have been a musician the majority of my life and have taught music professionally for over 8 years. I was fascinated with the guitar at the age of 10, and started taking lessons, practicing and playing for fun with my brothers and friends in my city. By high school I was performing regularly and s

Hello and Welcome! Teaching creative and expanded use of Ableton is one of my greatest joys. Working on this great DAW since 2015, I utilize it for sound design and composition in genres ranging from concert hall music to hip hop. Ableton is known for being possibly the least intuitive in terms of user experience and I remember well the hours I spent in forums or watching Youtube tutorials to learn the ins and outs of this DAW. Since then, I have developed my own method for teaching it to students and am excited to share with musicians who are new to the world of electronic music, regardless of prerequisite experience.

About Zachary

As a professional composer, producer, sound designer, and trombonist based out of Atlanta, GA I love to teach. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Trombone Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, Ohio and have taught for the past 10 years. Currently, I am wor

"As the other reviewers wrote, Jarod is the real deal! You can see some of his work on Google Play Music under Jarod Glawe.

Currently, he does audio engineering and mixing for Rapper Twista, nothing to sneeze at, right? He's signed as a pop dance producer, working in EDM and house. So he focuses on more of the electronic top 40, i.e. he's worked with The Chain Smokers. Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. In Chicago, hip hop is the main thing. Some of the biggest rappers come out from Chicago, but most of his music comes out of Amsterdam.

He gave me the basics of Ableton, which was GREAT. I learned about EQ, compression, reverb, delay and phasors. We took a song by Bonobo (Ketto) and tried to reverse engineer all the tracks. This was hard, but in so doing, I got exposure to Splice and a host of amazing plug-ins. Every lesson was eye opening for me. I felt like I was dipping my toes into a vast ocean, and like a kid in a candy shop. These were awesome. Highly recommended.

"Kyle is amazing with Ableton. Prepping for a live stream I needed some help getting my tracks assembled and configured for use with triggers from a pad in Ableton. While I'm no stranger to DAWs (I use Pro Tools and Logic regularly) - there are a lot of features and tools in Ableton live that I certainly would not have been able to find without countless hours of time and research.

Kyle made it so much easier to understand and learn about features, tools and workflow within Ableton. Thanks Kyle, you're awesome!"

"Alex is a great teacher, willing to go at your speed. I can tell he's very qualified to teach any level of student. I'm brand new to DAW software, and I really needed someone to help me work through it from step one. Now I feel like I've got the ideal situation going on, where I work on it on my own during the week, come up with a million questions, and then I can ask him and solve my issues once a week. Very nice guy, more than worth the price of the lessons."
